    Happy Memorial Day!
My 2003 does not have fog lights but it has the empty sockets for them and a few blank switch covers on the dash I could mount the switch to.
Does anyone have a fog light kit they like or suggest? Pretty easy install?

There's a few threads on it here.

Your truck is pre-wired for them, plugs should be tucked away behind the bumper.
Any aftermarket lights will do to fill the holes, TYC, Depo, Eagle Eye all make great replacements.
'03+ have the fog light switch on the stalk; you'll need to buy that fog light switch, let me drag up part number and info.
I can't recall if true for the '03+, but I know on the '00-'02 you need to buy a relay --- @BubbaW do you happen to remember this piece of info? I should write it down.

EDIT: Nevermind Bubba, you answered that question already in reply #15 of the thread I linked in my next reply.

    Read this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/o6-sr5-dc-fog-light-add.155525/

Stalk part number you need to utilize the factory wiring for a plug-and-play experience is in reply #7. The other info in that thread answers all the other stuff; while he has a Double Cab (DC), the info will be the same as yours.

PS - if you ever installed LED headlights, they can cause fogs and high beams not to work (sometimes, but installing resistors should resolve the issue)

No problem. I updated the everything you need to know about your 1st gen Tundra thread to include retrofit fog lighting, it's in the "Lighting Info..." section along with a bunch of other lighting-related questions:

    Lighting info ...

    • Bumper/grille light bar options HERE.
    • Retrofit OEM fogs:
    • If replacing headlights, always buy "CAPA Certified" units to avoid garbage. For higher-quality brands w/CAPA certified options, get DEPO orTYC. Akkon or EagleEyes are also OK.
    • If you install LED headlights, it's common for your high beams & fogs to stop working. If you have this or always-on high beam indicator in the dash, add a plug-and-play resistor to at least one headlight. Problems were reported with LED tail/fog lights also, it's not just headlights. Some circuits need resistance LEDs won't deliver.
    • Hyperflash problems are common after swapping LEDs into the turn signals. One solution is the Diode Dynamics flasher module (avoid scAmazon knock-offs, buy direct).
    • There are H4 mini-projectors available for our trucks, but you must permanently modify your light housings, no oven-baking needed, just remove a hat-shaped chrome shroud inside, then install the mini-projector (detailed instructions). There are bake-in options for projectors. Check THIS REPLY for links to common upgrade options.
    • For interior LEDs... a breakdown of interior light sizes is here. For climate control lighting updates, see here. Dash gauges for earlier 2000-2004 models with replaceable bulbs, check this. 2005+ dash gauges had on-board LEDs, it's major surgery o change colors. You can sand the rear of the guage face for white vs. green. REMEMBER: LED lights are polarized. If you install backwards, they won't light up! Test after install. If one fails to light, try popping out, rotate it 180º, reinstall, test.

My reply #15 in that thread you're linking to concerns a 2006.

@badbob has a 2003 and it's fog relay is in engine bay along with the 20A Fog fuse.

I also believe the # 7 post you refer to in that thread, you are showing part # for 2006 and may not apply to 03. Passing thru before Church and don't wish to rush an answer.

    Thanks for that!

I want to say 2003 is the cutover year, where plastic bumpers started popping on the scene, and the bumper is the indication of where the relay will be. I should probably update that in the megathread, a metal vs. plastic bumper note. Not sure how to deal with that. OP has the plastic bumper, and everyone we've seen so far on here with plastic bumper had fogs on the stalk.

Actually heck, I guess @badbob could look at his under-hood fusebox and confirm if there's a FOG relay slot in that spot. And look behind the oval piece in his dash to see if there's a harness plugged into it.

I will check tomorrow for the relay and check the stalk and send update. I don't wanna pay 216 bucks for a stalk with a fog light switch if I don't have to, thanks!

I don’t see anything like a fog light option on the stalk, I do see something on the fuse cover that says FOG

Stalk won't say FOG unless you have the specific stalk that came with foglight trucks. It looks like this: https://tnstatic.net/attachments/20250418_122635-jpg.1099578/

I do see FOG on the fuse/relay lid. Look at the printed breakout. Find the word NOTICE at the bottom. Go to the left of that word, 2nd box up is FOG. Just below PWR OUTLET. Compare to the actual relays installed. Is there a relay in that FOG spot?

See those two slanted black oval blanks in your dash pic above? Pop that beige plastic cover off that holds those. See if there's a wire harness plugged into the back of the LEFT blank, that's where fog normally is I believe, if it's on the dash? See this pic: https://tnstatic.net/attachments/img_8700_jpg-jpg.1088368/

If there are wires on either one, let us know what color the wires are so we can compare to the EWD.

The picture from the 03 EWD I posted up above, clearly point to the Fog fuse and relay. The cover @badbob posted above, clearly shows the Fog relay placement and fuse that’s written on cover. There are circuit path differences on the 03 related to Fog and whether one has DRL or no DRL. As far the location of Fog relay and fuse, there’s no difference. The EWD shows the fog switch 2 conductors at the C15 connector, which the at the stalk for the other functions are Combination switch.

Outside wollering in the mud and can’t post pics of circuit, if that would even help.

@badbob, take a good look at your fuse box, undoubtedly you’re glancing over and not seeing fuse or relay holder. In fact, look down in that cavity where fog relay is supposed to be and see if it even has contacts to accept a relay.

There's plenty of used ones on eBay. That's where I got mine and it was $30 shipped. Just make sure you install and test it soon so you can return it if it doesn't work.

Based off of FSM, EWD, Owners Manual, folks more knowledgeable than I and numerous past threads concerning 2003....Yes, it's on the stalk.

Yup! That's the one I linked above. I wasn't sure, and I have some sneaky suspicions there may be different directions depending whether the truck is '00-02, '03-04, and '05-06 though.

And Some of the RCLBs, we know, came as 'work trucks' which up to 2006 still had that steel bumper up front. So I just updated the Megathread with "steel" vs. "plastic" bumper, and hopefully that steers people right?

Always open to suggestions on how to be more clear with that info though. '03 they fixed a lot of things. But man, it's tough to truly understand where Toyota made their production switch-overs through the years.

Something like that thread can be a hindrance IMHO if it becomes so full that it becomes a manifesto or a hell of a long short story. Making it into a cliff note version would serve members better IMHO.

Don't want to come across as being negative to that thread, so I think I've said enough.

I just installed speakers, CarPlay and backup cam and replace spare tire, about to take the tundra on its first road trip. I’ll tackle the fog lights next month, sounds like could be a can of worms.
Thanks for all the help again
