Does anyone have a security feature on a 1st Gen where you have to flash the high beams to start the truck? I have this feature which leads to the 2nd part of this. I recently replaced my burned out headlight with led headlights. The led lights turn on and both low and high beams work but my truck would not start because of the aforementioned feature. So I had to replace the driver side light with an incandescent bulb to get the truck to start but I would like to use led lights. Any suggestions?

Yes. One of our Texas members ( @VR6T ) has that, alarm that was tied into the headlight. Aftermarket. He took a vacation (temp ban) and hasn’t posted since. I dunno if he ever tackled it.

And if using LED lights, be sure to check the megathread/community info thread for important notes about making that upgrade, if you’re not already aware.
