Is it my imagination or do the 12v sockets charge at different speeds?

the one on the right in particular is VERY slow to charge my kid’s iPad. After 20 minutes, it’d only charged 3%. The socket in the back is about the same. It’s plugged into a 49.5W Anker car charger.

All the 12v sockets suck, even after adding adapters, i can never get a fast charge. I ended up buying a new plate, off this forum to add 2 of the 12v sockets and added my own bigger wire. the factory wire is really, really tiny. Now i have 2 fast chargers in the back for the kids

Are you just charging? Or is it being used and charging at the same time?

Just charging. impossible to use and charge at this pace as it depletes faster than it charges.

Do you have a write up on how you did that, or could you elaborate here on how you did it? What do you mean by “plate”?

the plate where the OE outlet mounts, that is a bolt on plate. When you take apart the back of the console (pretty easy) you bolt the new one, which you can get with dual outlets. Message @Chelly and he sells 3d printed ones for like 35 bucks shipped. And then get some outlets from Amazon, Amazon.com: USB C Car Charger Socket 12V USB Outlet 2 Pack: Newest Aluminum Metal 78W Dual USB-C PD 30W and 18W QC3.0 Port Multi USB Charger Outlet with LED Voltmeter Power Switch for RV Motorcycle Boat Marine : Cell Phones & Accessories so you can have the usb and usb-c. I used bigger gauge wire, from amazon also and ran it to my add on fuse block kit. When you take it apart and see the harness for the 12v outlets, u will know why the charging sucks

there are a couple write ups, DIY: USB Replacement CIG outlet | Toyota Tundra Forum that show you how to take it apart and wire.
