1st Gen. Lunch Table - General Discussion

I haven't seen him in a few years now, but I'd imagine that he looks like red skull now. No acne or pimples in sight.

 

I’m so close to wiring up my tundra homelink. Maybe today. But probably not. Soon. I’m so ready.

I think I have a spare too. Don’t even remember which one is mounted right now. I had a temp one color matched to green for this tundra. And since then I bailed on green for white cluster lights. So the joke is on me. But I’m excited for temp someday. It’s very nice on my ‘05 Taco.

 

Ford F100? Hadn't seen one of these before. Everything on this lot, including the lot itself, appear to be for sale. This one in particular didn't have a for sale sign in the window but I'll bet it is...

I really like it. The car behind it kind of shows scale. It's bigger than a Datson or LUV, but it's pretty small.

 

F100 is the original F150, was also called the Ranger at one point. The 100 became 150 to match the 1500s from the other guys and the Ranger name got left behind to become the smaller truck offering.

 

If I were in a different stage of life, that kind of truck is exactly the kind of project I'd take on. I'm partial to the old FJ40s and 1940s military Willy's Jeeps, but I'd still have a place for a little truck like this.

No idea if this guy "knows what he has", or if everything on his lot would be a steal...

But I could see garaging that thing as a project, taking it out around town on nice summer days.

 

In the early 60’s, Ford manufactured the F100 and F250 built with the bed and cab all one piece. Pretty much exactly like a uni-body…except that the body was still attached to a normal truck frame. It was a very poor design which lead to cracked bodywork. Ford then scrapped the idea a few years later. Thanks for that pic!

 

They built the F100s into the early 70's. My buddy has one that's setup for the desert.

 

Cam Lock is what I think its called. When My windshield was broken it was replaced with OEM style, unfortunately it had been replaced prior to that with a standard mount, so my mirror didn't fit, and has yet to be mounted 14mo later.
The make "adaptors", but I've got a camper top, so I would rarely use it anyway.

The front clip and rear bedsides are remove-able to free up some wheel travel and so you don't trash them when racing or running harder

 

Funny enough, Toyota wanted to use T150 after the T100, but Ford had an issue with that. So instead we got the Tundra.

 

yeah I figured they were fiberglass like LT baja style stuff, that thing looks like fun. Old man had a 76 300ci 3 on the tree.

 

Oh yeah, I didn't even notice that the bed and cab are one. I could see that causing problems.

 

I know some parts are interchangeable and other aren't between Tundra's and Sequoia's. I know some are limited to DCs vs RC and ACs.

My question is will this Bilstein 4600 kit for the 01-07 Sequoia work on my 02 AC? It even mentions the 2000-2006 Tundra in the description that looks like it was just copied and pasted from that selection over. On their website they're out of stock for the Tundra front kit but have front and rear for the Sequoia.

I and a couple of others have had a pretty shitty experience with SuspensionLifts (aka 'BilsteinLifts'), it's documented here on the forum. (EDIT: More info on problems HERE)

That said, I would handle things in the following way:

• Go to Bilstein's part finder: https://cart.bilsteinus.com/
• Look up the part number for a 2007 Sequoia
• Open a new browser tab, look up the part number for a 2002 Tundra
• See if the part numbers match; if they don't, your answer is "NO!", it won't be a direct fit, though it may still be doable, I'm not sure I'd personally do it.
• A vendor can potentially look it up for you also.

Before buying, if you haven't already done a sanity check for what all you may need, consult the "Suspension, wheel and tires ..." section in the 1st reply of THIS THREAD.

If you need a vendor who'll preassemble, I'd check in with @memario1214 with www.hotshotoffroad.com who is a trusted board vendor to see if he'll sell preassembled in what you need, else as a second resort, hit up Josh @ www.FirstGenOffroad.com

If you don't need any preassembly, ping Colton (aka 'memario' / Hotshot Offroad), chances are he'll do you right. I've ordered from him in the past, and will again.

I think "shifty" is one of those words like "ignorant", where people don't know the #1 definition of the word, so they treat it like it's some other shit it really ain't.

Hey guys I’m having this issue with my truck and wondering if you guys could give me any advice. The issue is when I accelerate there is a lag in the pedal and my pedal is sorta firm to press? No codes other than abs light but I don’t think that has anything to do with it. 2005 Toyota tundra 2005 dc 4wd
