    It's also a WOMAN'S 12, so it's more like a men's 8 and not anywhere close to wide.

So I bought a factory color matched bezel (lower) because my self painted (hood bulge) didn’t match. Now I have three different shades of quicksand…. WTF Toyota? I can see a 3rd party can of 4V6 Quicksand being a shade off, but a part from the factory?? Is this sun damage? I’ve heard “it’s just the way the paint shows up on plastic”….. so the factory TRD Pros are three different colors right off the lot then??? What gives IMG_9885.jpg

Your hood and front quarterpanel are different shades, too. Add a little green to the black and tan and just call it cammo.

That's a pretty stark difference. What it comes down to sometimes is variance in the color code itself. Sometimes trucks are painted at a different facility and they have a different formula in their paint vat... like if you ask grandma for her famous cookie recipe, then you make the same cookies with her recipe. Might taste different for a number of reasons, different flour, different butter, not enough or too much of an ingredient etc.
Sometimes it's sun damage, like you said. Could be any number of reasons but it sucks for sure.

Can anyone recommend good front brake pads with low dust? I used the R1 Concept pads that came with my slotted rotors. They bite good but holy hell do I have to clean the wheels every other day!

Finally installed my switch panel in the engine bay and got the lights wired up so the controller inside the cab is finally functional.
Almost getting warm enough to finally install my Baja Bumper that’s been sitting on my workbench all winter.

Looks good! I did almost the same and also used rago mounting panel. I would recommend putting all wires that can potentially touch any sharp edges or are just a little too thin into the wire loom to protect them long-term.

Thanks! the only exposed wire not in a loom is the add a fuse going into the fusebox to power the switch panel. I'll eventually get a loom on there once I get the rest of the wiring hooked up to the panel from the bumper. The other wiring on top of the tray from the ditch lights got rerouted and secured after the install.

Carbon fenders arrived for the old mans build. Should match the carbon hood nicely.

Installed RCI engine, transmission and cat guards last night.

did not take many photos, but they are on.

decided to remove the OEM transfer case “skid plate” while I was under there to give a little room between the RCI skid and the transfer case. With the OEM guard in place the RCI skid plate was almost touching.

What did I do to my Tundra today? Drove it many miles, as usual. 73,000 on the truck, and 68,000 on the Falkens. I’m impressed with these tires. Starting to get noisier, but getting 70k out of an AT tire, is not what I am used to.IMG_2324.jpg

I got some more done on the bed today. Door is done for the top box, and the tailboard is mostly done. The lights are temporarily wired and I cut it to stuff a rear winch in at some point. I don't like the plate off center, but it's a good sacrifice to have the winch.

Put the offroam vent mount on a few weeks ago thinking my RAM phone holder would work. Offroam uses a 20mm ball so none of my RAM couplers would fit it. Designed and printed an adapter with my 3D printer and it works like a charm! You just slip it over the 20mm ball and you're good to go. Here's a link if anybody runs into the same issue. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6564756

I've been happy with the Hawk LTS pads. Lower dust levels and weren't expensive.

I finally got around to adding a cargo divider to the Tundra. My ‘07 Taco had one and I didn’t realize just how much I actually used it.

After a bit of reading and research, I ordered a knock-off divider from eBay motors. I knew I was going to have to make a few “modifications” for it to fit with the Toyota hard tonneau cover, so buying the $200 cheaper knock-off made perfect sense.

The fit & finish is a little rough, but it’s what I would expect for a (Chinese?) off brand copy. It does feel solid, not cheap crap. Plus the knobs fit in the upright orientation under the tonneau cover

I had my MGM gas cap replaced and the dealer brought it outside and put it up against like 5 or so different shades of mgm to match to the right one. Looks like someone skipped that step. I was shocked there were so many slightly different shades.

Did a small thing. Added a bunch of black AJT trim to blackout the chrome. The all-black steering wheel is a huge difference, IMO. I really like it. It ain't much, but it's honest work.

    Items added:
    • Steering wheel trim (AJT)
    • Center console trim pieces (AJT)
    • Vent rings (AJT)
    • Toyota black TRD shifter
    • Toyota steering emblem overlay (some cheapo from ebay)
After selling my 3rd Gen build (Duster's Double Cab Build - The Daily Do-it-All), it's nice to do small mods again. This one is going to be an OEM+ truck that I'm just going to tweak here & there. Simple stuff. Too old for much else.

Edit: I realized that the pic has a ton of dust & dog hair floating around. One of the trim pieces looks scratched. It isn't. You can thank my lab for donating her hair to every picture I take.
