I attempted to get the silver piece around the shifter off to paint and it cracked it right in half. And then I tried drilling out the plastic welds that seemed to be holding it on there and drilled right through . Probably should have waited until I wasn't sleep deprived, but unfortunately I can't go back. I'm attempting to keep it together with jb weld and hope it holds together

Is there a specific way to remove that thing that I missed?

I'll try and update my posts to link some of this info for future folks.

But this should help you out, if not post a pic of your issue and I'll try and assist.

Thanks, I ended up jb welding the broken piece and sanding it down, also filled the drill hole with jb weld too. I guess I'll just have to hit glue it back in place like the chrome bezel. It just seemed like it would come off easy but it definitely did not lol doesn't look the best now but it works

Sorry man, but glad you are repairing it. I'm sure you can make it work and after painting it should be barely noticeable.

Seems I skipped over doing the HotTails mod. I did Option A, (reverse switch back to amber blinker) and absolutely love it. So much brighter and makes me more visible, I'm often driving late at night when other folks are not at their most attentive, so this gives me some added peace of mind that I'm making myself more visible and making it clearer that I'm turning or stopping. I can definitely see the vehicles behind me in a glow of red but I've yet to see anyone shield their eyes. With the tailgate lightbar, I'm definitely doing some overkill but I'm happy and have yet to be rear ended

I had looked at aftermarket tails but really didn't like most options, I have no issues with the stock ones so this was a great alternative for me.

Edit: Seems I don't know what I posted and I previous put a space in Hot Tails so I missed it when I searched HotTails
I'm my thread and this is worth mentioning twice, so this stays hahaha

Okay, I think I got most posts updated with links to forum threads/posts or to actual products. Should help anyone looking at what I did, but feel free to ask additional questions. We are all in this together

Before 2023 wrapped up. I got my upgraded suspension put on. Nothing crazy but the stiff ride of the TRD Sport shocks was not as enjoyable for the wife, so this was to appease her :D

6112 up front at the 3rd setting with a cb shim on driver side to account for lean. 5100 in the rear. Also picked up some Icon bump stops for the front, they were cheaper than Durobumps or Superbumps but honestly I should have just bought one of those 2 since these foam Icon ones will likely wear out. But she is going to be a pavement princess commuter for 2024 so I'm not too worried.

Again, a shout out to @memario1214 for working with me and powder coating the coils.

If I have anything you are trying to do, feel free to pick my brain. I have definitely messaged plenty of folks asking how to do mods prior to taking them on. Working on vehicles (in this sense) is new to me, so I was often nervous to take on some of these mods. But folks have been helpful and kind and it really made this possible. So feel free to reach out and if I can help I will, and if not I might be able to point you the right way.

Thanks man! I was definitely slow to doing anything but I enjoyed being on here and learning from folks. Just about everyone here will take the time to help you out and will tell you how to learn from their mistakes. Just an incredible place to be.

Just an update. The truck is being driven a lot at the moment and my diy paint job on the bulge and surround has taken some rock chips. The paint isn't peeling, thankfully, but every month its gained some more spots where the chrome is visible *sigh* I have a spare set I plan to paint differently but time is an issue and last time I borrowed my neighbors air compressor and he has since moved. Trying to find a compressor that fits my needs and budget.

Bumper caps are holding up really well. I don't see any damage to them and they don't seem to have faded any. They are dirty and have bug splatter but I haven't had time to wash and she goes back on the road tomorrow anyways.

@Cl8NL hope this shows the caps well enough. If you have other questions or want some different pics, I will do what I can to assist.
