I looked over the entire collection. So many memories, so many cars I tried to buy one of but never found a good enough example.
Funny, but the closer I get to the death end of lifespan, the less I want to actually own many of those.
Used to be I like it/it's interesting I must own one. Now it's oh, fun memory or interesting vehicle but I don't want to caretake it.
Capable, makes my life simple, diverse ability - they seem to be increasing in importance.

Do you have any pic's of the battery bracket you built? I have been eyeing that same spot trying to visualize how to build a bracket to hold a battery.

I have nearly the same simple dual battery setup in my Land Cruiser, although I did run a dedicated ground between both batteries.

The isolator solenoid works great with no complicated DC-DC chargers to fail. Plus you can self jumpstart if you run an additional switched (+) from the house battery to the solenoid

    Not bad.

    Screenshot_20240301_074448_Weather.jpg

It actually snowed in Amarillo yesterday, which is weird considering it was 80 on Tuesday with 40 mph winds. Also, the panhandle had a huge fire on Tuesday. Something like 1,000,000 plus acres burnt up. An entire town is gone. Bad times.

It should. The secondary battery is only charged when the car is running, or in other words when the alternator is running and charging my starting battery.

I didn’t build my battery bracket/tray. It came from Amazon and was like $15. The new bracket for holding my power steering though, that I did “fabricate.” Just took some of my scrap metal, cut out a 1” wide, however long piece. Then took it to the Vice, banged on it until it looked to be about a 90 degree angle then cut it once more to fit into the small gap left in my battery tray. Bolted it together with the old reservoir and wallah.
    IMG_1632.png
*also I did go back and remake another bracket, the one in that pic was just a mock-up. There’s a nicer one on there now thats actually straight :)

Finally done. New inner tie rods(Moog :anonymous:)

OEM bellows, outer tie rods, lower ball joints, and hardware. Took me about two hours to finish this morning. Just went for a test drive and I must have done something right because my alignment seems to be pretty damn close. One thing I forgot to do was straighten and lock the steering wheel before starting. Seems like a non issue so far.

Today was the day for me too. Yoga Mat for the Old man. Just BallJoints though... and all the Mayzle do stuff, grease susp+driveline/Fluid film/deepcreep.
I red loctited them last time (5/26/23 SPK Economy :anonymous:), didn't have to use any heat today to get them loose, so I did it again. A little bit of heat on the tie-rod and balljoint, no pullers just a few light taps.
Used torque specs today instead of UgaDugas.

My rc buddy just bought it about 2-3 weeks ago. I hyped up the 1st gen so much he made the move after wrecking his 2gen Tacoma. It’s a bad ass build all the fab work was done by 80percentoffroad. The truck did great on the trail

Does downloading 239 updates to the scanner count?

Going to see if there are any codes from my letting the battery die.

Got my Skid Row Transmission skid plate and cat guards installed today. These American made drill bits are bad ass. So much better than the gold DeWalt bits. The TEMO step bit is great too. Project Farm was right.

    PXL_20240303_193540025.jpg

The angle is deceiving. The cat guards don't touch the frame.
