Finally got under mine and have the WE's, I also need to get some WL's for the truck. So far cheapest i've seen from toyota are the remans at $140 ish each at Ourisman Toyota (47750-0C022-84 and 47730-0C022-84). Those are the caliper PN's for the remans (the 84 at the end) for the 2006 Tundra which should have had the WLs.

S13WE, 13WL, 14WA etc are casting numbers on the caliper that tell you which ones you have. Look at your calipers and it have one of those numbers on it.

used Solo LT kit for $2.5k on FB market right now, just the arms. Would still need extended brakelines, shocks, bumps and straps, so another $3-4k. :annoyed:

Upgrade your brakes? Stop better, more efficient under heavy loads, less chance of overheating and causing earlyneed to replace pads/rotors.
Upgrade to long travel? well.......floating over the bumpy stuff, of course

S13WE calipers use as 199mm rotor/ pad combination, 13WL calipers use a 231mm rotor/ pad combination. Basically more surface area to use for braking and more area to absorb heat.

I personally did not like the Powerstop drilled/slotted pad and rotor combinations, I experienced warping on both my front and rear set within 20k. Running EBC slotted on all four corners and they work much better anyways.

Powerstop also ghosted me when I started asking technical questions since I needed a replacement caliper in the rear. The replacement had a similar but different cast number on the mounting bracket, and the fitment for the mounting bracket was off. Had to take a new caliper and put it on the old bracket from the caliper with a destroyed piston.

Powerstop calipers are fine though, they're essentially reman and repainted OEM calipers.

Ya know you're not wrong, but this forums search function is exactly user friendly nor easly accessed. But hey I guess that homework street only goes for "new guys" to Toyotas. You could be the nicest guy in the world, but that comment came off as 1000% a forum elitest. And as well know those are just the coolest guys.

It's actually the best search function of any forum I've ever visited. Try searching like this when you are looking for something.

This narrowed it down to 2 results.

If you can't figure out the search function on here, the fewer keywords, the better. Also select to only search this forum. If someone gives good advice you like, filter by their username.

Google search helps, also adding site:tundras.com to your search will filter out other websites.

I got the powerstop z23 kit for the front, and am still pretty happy with it, but after 10k miles i can see that its eating into my rotors more than expected. The coating on the hub part of the rotor was just paint & started to rust pretty quick, but they werent really expensive, so i cant bitch too much. & after 10k miles i still have chamfers on the pads.

If you look on the left side of the caliper it'll say 13WL or 13 WE on there. It'll be on the inside(towards the truck) of the caliper when installed.

This is the kit I went with:

And here's how I did it:

I will say, sometimes I ask questions that I probably could just search but as a long time viewer of this forum the brake caliper upgrade has truly been mentioned a million times.

I have seen people talking about it, but like I said I didnt understand the abbreviations, make sense now. But im not planning on doing the fronts. Now a rear dosc conversion or an 01 Sequoia rear end conversion/ swap thats what I'm after.
