Just curious last week I had TRD Duals installed on my 2021 Platinum. Today to compliment that I installed a TRD Air filter in the stock airbox. Has anybody installed this TRD air filter and what if any gains did you experience? Tomorrow its getting the TRD Front & Rear Sway bars installed. :bananadance:

I’ve owned three 2.5 gen tundras and used the drop in Trd filter on all of them. You won’t notice anything but I like just “recharging” when it’s dirty vs replacing

Gains? From an air filter in a stock box? Go take the air filter out and drive around the block. You won't notice any difference.

Just be careful when you oil it, too much with create excess build up on the MAF. Most switch from the oiled TRD filter to either the AFE or the K&N dry filters to avoid that issue.

Look in to the SABM (stock air box mod) and the DIY TRD tube. Those will also provide more improvements, the straight tube from the airbox to throttle body is probably the best part of the TRD intake but since you have the filter and most say the lid is just visual, might as well save some money and make your own tube.

You may want to add this part PTR03-34079 to your setup. It is the TRD Air Intake Accelerator goes on the side closest to the fender on your stock air box to pull more air in. Once this is added there isn't much difference in the TRD Air intake kit and the stock box with the TRD filter and TRD air accelerator.

    Here is the part...

You will also be happy with the sway bars I also have both the TRD front and rear sway bars on my 21 Platinum.
