The Wife lost the spare key and fob to my 2006 Tundra. Does anyone know the cost of replacing and where the best place to get this done at? Thanks

Dealer will cut a key for about $13 with your VIN if you have no other key. Just provide proof of ownership. This is the key only and doesn't include programming a chip key or a new remote. What does your key look like? You still have the original or is it missing as well?

It just looks like a normal key and then has a small fob with three buttons. Does the key have a chip? I don’t know. I still have one of the original keys and fob.

Posting a pic of what you have would be a good start. Having another key should help with the process.

My wife accidently threw her Smart key in a dumpster. She is so frugal, she crawled in the dumpster and looked for it. LOL. It was about 200 dollars for a new Smart Key with programming from the dealership. Since yours is not a Smart Key (just a lock/unlock FOB,) it might be a lot cheaper to buy and have programmed. You can have the regular key made anywhere, by copying your key.

A picture of backside is the important part. It will show the FCC # like what's in the 06 Owners manual.
With that info, one can look on internet for best price. They then can follow the registering instructions for the RS3200 system, if applicable.

I've had lost/broken keys over time and also some spares. I used to buy the used originals on eBay, but that's potluck. There are several other clones available that work quite well. Just make sure they're compatible. The catch is: once you program a spare, it disables the other(s), so you have to reprogram them all at the same time. It's a pain. I think there's a limit as to how many you can program without messing up the rest. I think the magic number is 3, but the technology may have changed,

This hasn't been my experience. I currently have three fobs programmed, and I think the RS3200 manual tells you they'll allow up to four. I'd need to crack open the doc again to confirm.

What bites a lot of people in the ass on this is, once full, the system won't let you add another fob, but gives you no indication why. First thing I did when I got my two spare fobs, I added one, then when the other arrived a few days later, after reading about the limit in the programming instructions, was to get into programming mode, dump all fobs in memory, and re-add al three I had on-hand. Just saving space for one more spare.

And DC owners need to be careful, I don't know what the rhyme or reason, but some use immobilizer system/keys and some don't. Just another reason to have a dealership cut you a new one based on VIN.

Don't know what I did wrong, but when I programmed my spares, the original quit working, so I did all three and it worked.

What's the FCC ID on your current remote? Got a pic of the rear of your fob?

It looks based on the pic like you have the same as mine / BAB237131-056 (that's the general p/n not Toyota's p/n, if you want Toyota's p/n I can get it for you)

But before you buy, I'd recommend hitting this page, searching the page for the word "programming", click the link to the page with RS3200 (not RS3000) instructions to download them, and try to enter programming mode per Toyota's instructions. If it works, the fob# I just gave you should be fine.

It usually takes me 2-3 attempts to get the timing/order on entering programming mode correctly. If you get in, since you have no fobs, follow the instructions to erase all previously known fobs. It'll save you a step later when your fob comes in.

I apologize ahead of time if i'm hijacking this thread. I have looked around at others and can't figure out what's wrong with my truck. I inherited the truck from my father and only got one key with it. I recently had one cut from the dealer that works much better. After looking up my vin through Toyota, It says i have keyless. I bought a couple cheap fobs and i can't for the life of me get them to program. I can get to the program stage no problem but when it's time to hit the buttons, nothing happens. Also, there is no auto lock, unlock when it starts like the instructions say it should. My question is, can your RS3200 go bad? Could i have fobs that don't work? Is there a fuse to the RS3200 that could be bad? I appreciate all help.

Answer to both Qs is NO.

1st thing to at program stage is to issue the command to erase all previous fobs. And use the 'Programming info' instructions from this thread. That phrase is linked near the top of the 1st reply, 4th or 5th paragraph. Your system is probably already at the limit. This bites lots of people in the ass, as mentioned above.

I went in and erased all previous fobs and still can't get these fobs to program. I can get into program mode but when i hit the buttons on the fobs, nothing. How do i go about finding exactly what fob fits my truck? These fobs are cheapos from Amazon and may not be doing the job.

As noted in the 05 Owners Manual for a RS3200 system, BAB237131−056 is the FOB that's appropriate. You'll find FCC ID on backside.

I called my trusty local pull-a-part and asked if they had any 2003-2006 Tundra fobs. They did. I went in, it had the correct FCC ID on the rear, I bought it. $12 and in near-mint condition.

I then went on fleaBay and found a couple for $8 + ship, no reserve and unexpectedly won both, under $30 shipped, one in mint shape, one in good shape.

I currently 1 daily and 3 spares, 2 of the 4 I cycle through semi-regularly, and 2 extras "just in case", with all 4 fobs programmed to the truck.

I also picked up one in mediocre shape during 2021 on another JY run that I shipped to another member after confirming it was functional. $10 to me. They're out there. I recommend buying used OEM, not Chinesium crap off scAmazon. There's so much stock of the originals floating around, just make sure the FCC ID on the rear matches. These are a lot like the remotes for MKIV VWs, they were used across multiple vehicles, and you can mix and match if the FCC ID is same.
