    Seat covers, dash mat, ext. Trans. Cooler, sumo springs, oem pwr fld tow mirrors
    Drain and fill only, maybe two or three times 500 miles apart. There is no reason to drop the pan, you're just asking for trouble with broken bolts and possibly a warped pan that will never seal correctly.

    Just had to replace a solenoid on a buddy’s truck; 9 out of the 12 pan bolts broke off even after soaking in penetrating lube and using heat…

    I’d have never known. So, using the same filter is a-ok then?

    On these trucks it is really just a strainer and not an actual filter.
    No real need to change them out

    It's all good, nobody knows everything about everything. Yes, there is no need to change the filter strainer. Be certain to pin open the transmission cooler thermostat if your truck has an auxiliary tranny cooler while you service it and measure the fluid removed at the same temperature as the replacement fluid so you are sure to keep the same level. That should get you really close to full. Then verify the pan oil temp is correct 115-125F with a scan tool to do a final check while making sure you are on a level surface. Lots of YouTube videos on the subject.

    Just curious, were you using an impact or did they break by hand? Recently did a drain and refill at 87k but I'm contemplating dropping the pan.

    3/8” ratchet, 10mm and 3/8” sockets. All by hand hoping and praying they’d back out.

    Granted, this is/was a Minnesota truck so I was expecting this. Tried to break the pan bolt removal record I set with our Sequoia, but only tied it…

    So this begs the question, what’s the most effective way to remove the broken pan bolts. I imagine that the East-Out’s would work as well as they always do, which is to say they don’t.

    Are you drilling and tapping for a larger bolt or using some Heli-Coils?
