Hi! I have been reading some posts on this forum for about a month now but I had yet to create an account, I own a 2002 4x4 v8 tundra (access cab) and I have been doing some basic maintenance to it (changing fluids, serpentine belt, sparkplugs). I wanted to take it to the shop though to start getting some modifications done to the suspension. I think it currently has everything stock on the suspension (the truck seems to be taller on the rear compared to the front) I was thinking of getting the following kit installed and level the front with the rear.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MQXDOL6?ie=UTF8#cm_cr_carousel_images_section

I first want to know if that kit would work for what I want to do? And also if there is anything else I would need to buy that is not included on the kit?

I am also planning on changing the tires, I was thinking of getting the duratrac and keeping the stock 16 rims, I wanted to know if that would work with the aforementioned changes that I wanted to make?

Any advice would be very much appreciated!
*also I am taking the truck to the shop to get the suspension checked beforehand because I am now paranoid about lower ball joints failing*

From my experience, find a kit that has new springs with the amount of lift you want. Swapping the springs yourself sucks. Unless you have a wall mounted spring compressor I'd consider other options.

My plan was buying separately stock springs and take everything to my local shop to get them installed.

May be cheaper just to look on other websites for a pre-assembled set. The money you save on labor for them to just be assembled would probably be worth it.

I agree with @NickB_01TRD . I chose the path of ordering shocks and springs separately and at the end of it all it would have just been cheaper and less tedious to order pre-assembled stuff. Check out 1stGenOffroad as they offer pre-assembled struts and a lot of other goodies. Reliable, and Josh, the owner, can help with choosing exactly what you want as he also has a 1st Gen Tundra and a 1st Gen Sequoia if I am not mistaken as well.

If you're going with bigger tires, you're probably going to want the bigger brakes if it doesnt already have em. 13wl's fit the stock 16's.

Highly recommend reading the suspension advice in this thread.

Actually, just read the first couple posts in there, it covers what you need to read/hear/whatever about these trucks.

Which spring you choose to level is crucial. That all comes down to which cab and drivetrain you have. That thread says it all.

Choosing a reputable vendor like 1stGenOffroad or Toytec, and buying pre-assembled is advised if you got the $$.

If you're truly just leveling, you should be fine with just struts and shocks, no need for UCA or extended swaybar links.

Damn. You like living dangerously with that compressed spring. I only compressed it enough to get the hat off.

I only compressed it as far as I needed to so it would all come loose. Didn't stand behind it and quickly slid it on the new strut.

You must have the TRD coils, they appear to be 1/2 turn longer than mine.

Late to the party, but if you want a basic level, this is the kit I have. It comes preassembled and you can pick the spring you want to level it out. Worth the money IMO, most shops will be $200 +, and if you're planning on using OEM springs in a Bilstein, you have to have the correct OEM springs, some aftermarket replacements won't fit. Not fun to find that out on install day.

This is what my truck looks like on 2885 springs on my 01 Access Cab with a ~100 pound bumper, just barely more than level, I haven't touched the rear yet to get it dead even. I got about 2" of lift and threw on some 235 85 16's, which are about 31.6" tall. I don't think they would've rubbed even on a stock setup, I can't get them to rub off road at full bump/lock.
The picture isn't perfect, but the truck is just slightly taller and level. I also show off more here on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzAQUVkIaHI&t=226s

Dirt Deeds injectors, Addco rear sway, AEM dry flow air filter, last ever set of Stan's Try-Y headers, Borla full custom exhaust, front level, wheel spacers, and lots of electronics.
I didn't see it mentioned here but I'd be cautious ordering parts off Amazon. Too many fakes floating around.

And that price for a complete set of Billy 5100s seems too good to be true.
