Updated some SwitchPros legends, replacing the ripped “air” sticker and using some better descriptors for the others. These are from the HLK-12 kit.

Added an NSP-100 external speaker under the center channel speaker grille. This is showing the final setup, with the full case installed around the speaker and L brackets to mount it to the factory holes. I had originally opened the case and used zip ties to hold it in place.

Spruced up my farter deflators with some quick disconnect chucks. I’ll probably check these in the driveway before running them off road so I make sure they seal and latch correctly.

Hi! I’ve got the same cat plate, but I’m struggling to get the front bolts off with the TRD skid plate. Any advice or recommendations for cat plate removal?

You need someone with skinny wrists and forearms to get a 15mm wrench on the top of the crossmember... It's a pain in the ass, but I've done it a few times. Not sure if that's what you were asking about but let me know if there's more you need

this type of wrench was recommended. Can I only loosen it from above the cross member?

Yeah that wrench is your best bet. You’ll need to have a socket on the bottom as well, and once you’ve loosened the top you can use the socket at the bottom to finish pulling them. The cat plate should be slotted, so you don’t have to remove the bolts completely, unless you’re taking off the engine skid as well.

I would love your opinion on this:
I’m planning on installing the auto tailgate lock this weekend, but now I’m wondering if it’s even worth it. In order to get to the passenger side grommet I’ll have to get this plate off. What do you think?

Let me look at where I entered the cab with mine. I love having the tailgate lock, especially in the Phoenix area where they get jacked all the time.

@nakota you could look into getting a nut plate. It sits in a crevice on top of the cross member. Nice part about it is that one bolt will hold the plate and allow you to loose the other. Can easily slide your cat plate in/out from underneath the skid plate. Hope that makes sense

Just checked and you’d definitely need to drop the cat plate to get into the same grommet. There are others further back that would get you into the cab though.

Yes that makes sense. Thank you! Any recommendations on where to purchase? Sorry for hijacking your thread @TRDFerguson It’s laughable all the things we have to do to keep our trucks protected from theft.

I followed this DIY and used the generic actuator mentioned in the first post: https://www.tundras.com/threads/diy-pop-and-lock-for-a-fraction-of-the-cost.28693/
But if I were to do it over, I’d just buy the full kit from Pop & Lock, since fabbing the bracket and all the connectors was a bitch and a half. This way you won’t have to use wire taps or anything sketchy.
