Like you I have an 04 DC and my overhead console part # is 83290-0C020, it has been replaced by 83290-0C021. Even tho mine is equipped with moonroof, it will work even tho you have less wires than I do.

    Your plug and wire connections....

Got a unit off eBay from o2 Sequia no sunroof,Ayer plugging in temp sensor in front passenger’s side next to horn seems to work great except I need to recalibrate compass, here are the pics of unit not needing wiring modification for my 04 Tundra double cab no sunroof, anyone know how how to recalibrate compass?

So after installing new compass & temp display overhead console in truck ,the display unit was displaying incorrect direction ,so I had to calibrate or adjust the settings to do this press mode button display shows direction and outside temp in Fahrenheit ,press mode and E/M buttons at same time and hold until VAR appears then press the E/M button until the number that represents your location on this chart, this is the procedure for the unit I put in my truck 02 Sequoia ,precise instructions for your vehicle are located in your owners manual under compass ,here is the location chart ,I am stoked with my upgrade total cost for this project was $67.00 cost of unit on eBay plus $14.00 for ambient sensor, all plug and play no modifications I am stoked 52ABC9A0-22FA-4B5A-810E-DE29910C4A65.jpg

2000 didn't come with temp/compass mirror from the factory. And only double cabs had factory wiring for temp/compass, but double cabs didn't enter the market until 2004. So there was really no way I see you could have factory temp/compass in your 2000 Tundra if your truck info is valid.

I guess for me, the big thing you need to do here is figure out how the mirror and compass were wired, did someone use the OEM wiring kit with sensor to make it happen? Or just cobble something together by tapping off a line from the stereo, or tapping from the fusebox or ????

And in the unfortunate chance you made the very stupid mistake of cutting a factory harness to install the Alpine instead of using a $5-10 adapter harness, you need to look carefully at what/where you cut. Link to wiring diagrams for your truck are linked 4-5 lines down into the 1st reply here.

I'd recommend starting a new thread, honestly. "Problems with mirror after stereo install 2000 Tundra". It's a pretty specific situation. Include more info about how you installed the stereo and how the mirror is wired. Be specific, be honest, it's the easiest way folks can help.

I have a sneaky suspicion some dumbass used scotch-loks or something to tap off the factory stereo wiring to feed power to the mirror, and maybe tugging on wires ripped a wire because scotchloks are fucking garbage wire manglers, and/or they tapped off the stereo harness, and you bypassed using the amp harness when pulling the stereo, which pulled the stereo harness out. There's always a possibility you popped a fuse, but ... not knowing how it's wired, if/where there's an inline fuse, it makes it tough to say.

This is a long shot but do you remember the color of the wire?

Ground wires are quite often white with black stripe on our trucks.

Wiring colors vary wildly between years and cab types, so his 2005 is likely not going to match your 2000.

Go to THIS POST, look 4-5 lines down into the 1st post, you'll see a series of links to factory service manuals, electrical wiring diagrams (EWD), keyless entry programming, etc. Grab the EWD for your year.

IF anyone at the dealership did something similar on your truck, I'm guessing it'd be behind the kick panel. However, there were no 2000 model trucks that had factory auto-dimming/compass mirror, so if you have one, it was an add-on (dealer/port). There was no pre-existing wiring on the '00-'02 AC or RC to support the mirror. Or at least, nobody has ever posted proof of this yet, from-factory auto-dimming/compass/temp rear view in a '00-'02.

If you are 'the one', I'd love to know what roof harness part number your truck has. The label would be on the harness loom coming down the driver's side A-pillar.
