Thank you. Yes. I checked out that video when i was trying to get the buggers out....Unfortunately, the 2 part shops that are opened today both told me i had to bring them in to see if they had replacements. Makes me laugh.

Since checking for continuity plays a big part in many checks we make on our Tundras(and many other products also), we can work on giving you that fuzzy feeling if you wish. For starters, mind showing with a pic the meter you're working with and a couple more pics of the green fuse link. I looked in my 2004 hoping to see a duplicate of what you have in order to help show how to check green one but no luck, totally different.

So turn the knob to the 2000k setting
Now touch the leads together and meter reading should go to 0 ish which means continuous a connection between the leads.
If so then the meter is working

Now touch one lead to the big ground tab and then the other lead to each other contact one at a time

The good ones will read exactly like the leads touching each other did but the bad or open or blown ones will not change at all

does this make sense to you?

I believe so. This follows the same advice i read on line but when i test the black( which is visually fried )as a control of sorts, it does the same....so i am doing something wrong. Thank you so much for your help. I'm gonna get my neighbor to test it tonight. Can't get to a parts store today anyway.. Thanx again.

I guess it depends on what you mean exactly?
The only thing that matters is whether the meter displays 0 or OL when testing between 2 points.

so when touching the leads together does it display 0 or not?
If yes then the meter works and you have seen it read a good circuit of just the leads touching

So now touch black to the big tab of black fuses and red to each other contact point and the meter will tell you the same thing hopefully

I understand waiting though too and knowing for sure from a parts place just make sure to take the parts with you too!

Thank you ezdog for those instructions. I ended up taking them in to be tested. Finally, got back to working on it. Replaced the main black fuse. Still no luck...( same as before replacing the fuse) engine sounds like it's trying to turn over but it does not start. I'm gonna go through the thread here and do more research but I'm thinking my next course of action to to address the small box of fuses under the main fuse box. Thank all!

Hello all. Thank you so much for all your advice, support and assistance. My wonderful Tawundra ( my truck) is up and running...It seems the ever elusive Alt fuse I was looking for was part of one of the big main fuses (the black one) that I ordered and then replaced. I just needed to go back and make sure everything that I had done was snug. Tightened up all the cables ect. 8) Thanx again.
