Door trim overlays

First, I am new to the forums so I am sorry if I am asking something already covered. I search and could not find what I was looking for.

So last week I had the silver strips on my doors vinyl wrapped. A day later they started to peel and the vinyl guys says its related to the silver material. I have seen a bunch of threads for carbon fiber overlays for the front dash pieces but does anyone make something for those silver door pieces?

 

This is for the handles.
Not sure about anything for the silver trim piece.

I just replaced the sliver handles with black ones.
I didn't like the idea of covers..
Not that hard to swap them out, pull the panel and remove a couple screws.
I bought these.

Ya I have those already. I am talking the lower silver trim

 

SEM Trim black is an option. A lot of use have used it for the dash and console trim.

I knew @Tundra234 painted some but I couldn't find his threads..

 

Ya I guess painting them is an option but its a lease and i didn't want to be that invasive. With all of the carbon fiber overlays I figured someone had make one for these too

 

You would be surprised when it comes to dealerships. Most salesman don't know shit about the vehicle that they are trying to sell. I would be real surprised if they noticed trim color on a lease return.

That shouldn’t happen… Mine is wrapped and the vinyl has great adhesion. It sounds like they needed to prep the surface better. Do you know what kind of vinyl they used?

 

Possibly the installer didn't get all the silver clean before applying.

Should’ve adhered with proper prep.

Get them to redo or refund.

As @Tundra234 said, try SEC trim.
It’s all over my interior with impressive results.

 

I just bought four OEM handles the other day. I do have the AGT handle covers but I think I’m going to sell them.

how hard was it to replace the handles? i’ll be doing there soon..

from what I understand you can’t buy that door trim and you have to buy the whole panel. So what I figured out as you take the door panel off break off the tabs for that trim and then epoxy it back after you paint it.
