I’m trying to find a way to either black out, or replace the gray plastic around the center AC vents, and around the shift knob - and I’m curious if anyone has done this already.

Did my vent rings, shift housing, and cupholder trim this morning with parts from AJT Designs as shown in the link Pinay provided. I'm happy with the outcome. I have the shift gate piece on order.

    Me too.
Love all the parts from AJT Designs I've purchased.
I've lived with that chrome cup holder and vent trim for 5 years.
When the sun hits it just right it is blinding.

I received his climate knobs, but waiting on the climate trim rings to install them.
Also ordered a black TRD shift knob to help it all match.
The silver TRD shift knob I now have throws everything off....

Took my wife to dinner tonight and showed her the new pieces/parts. She just scratches her head and asks me why. Apparently she likes chrome...

I don't mind the brushed stainless look, but I'll eventually have a complete chrome delete. Just have to do it a little bit at a time.:spending:

Did you have to pull the console to get that big part out?

I'm going to end up using my spare one I've had for 3 years.
Today I tried to remove a Rockform magnet from an old phone case the tape tore off the silver finish..

Yes, lots of write up and videos. Everything just pulls apart. Only bolts are the ones holding in the radio.

    Thanks .
I've had my HU in and out more times than I can remember.
Need to pull it this week because my AM reception is weak, gotta have local AM news station.
I'm thinking the antenna plug is loose.
Not getting HD or some local AM stations.
thinking about replacing my Pioneer HU with a Kenwood.
Pioneer is giving me too many problems..

    I like that a lot..
Does the black color match well with everything else?
Same black shade as the TRD shift knob?

Are you able to pop out the climate panel pretty easily without removing all the lowers? I am about to install the Rago Dash plate and would rather not rip the whole center out. Please advise! Thanks

That lower climate control panel is the first thing to pop out.

Replacing the silver part, you have to remove everything surrounding it. BUT, it all just pops out. There are a few youtube videos covering it more in depth. I did NOT however remove any airbags, center console, nor the lower driver panel or pass glove box. Just unclip the top corner of each side and wrestle the silver dash panel out. It was right over an hour and half, start to finish. I didnt break anything or set off any airbags either lol

Like @InsaneAuto86 stated, everything pops out except the radio.
I usually start with the 12v plug panel.
Just stick your thumb in it (but not too far) and pull it out.
Then the climate control, then you'll see the bolts to the radio.

I would disconnect the battery just to be safe.

Despite what is in this video, you don't need to take the console apart and you can work around the shift knob.
I've pulled my HU more than once without doing anything to the console..

You are my hero. I was going to start just yanking but wanted to make sure. Mines also a 2020 so there are a couple differences in how the radio goes in.

    Thank you

The new #M 2080 Wrap Film is killer

Tried the paint method first but it started to chip over time.

Filled in the recessed areas of the bezel with acrylic, sanded, then vinyl wrapped it.
This is a fairly simple wrap project & holds up well through the heat of summer and everything being chucked in the drink wells.

This DIY KIT below has the Acrylic & enough 3M 2080 Series Vinyl to do the drink bezel plus the shifter trim.
I just need to edit the tutorial for it.

TUTORIAL on airbag / steering wheel trim panels removal.

    Acrylic & Vinyl Kit - $19.50
    Steering kit - $12.50

I think what you have is an SR5. Is that correct? How did you install that on an SR5? Does it work properly?

Thats my truck, it isnt that bad taking out that trim piece. The only thing I wish I would have done was add a few more coats of clear coat. Noticed a little scratches.

That 3m carbon wrap looks awesome! How much time did it take you to do the radio surround piece?
