Sorry for the noob post. I just greased the propellor shaft on my 2017 4x4 CrewMax Tundra. Felt like there was no grease...thanks Dealer but only about 10,000 miles. Soooo I kept going and as soon as grease purged I stopped and wiped off the excess.

Speaking to my old man and brother they told me I probably just blew the seals and no grease should have escaped. I read the manual, Haynes, forum, etc. no warning of this but no excuses either.

Did I do things as I should or am I looking at new seals....

It's quite common to pump new grease in until the old grease is out and any air bubbles.

Grease until all 4 caps of the u-joint purge, and all 4 caps should.

yep, and not just to where you see some grease coming out. Spicer says pump until you see new grease coming out from each cap to ensure most of the old worn stuff and any contaminants it contains is purged from the bearings.

There is a splatter area on my upper chassis frame from grease fling/spin off that purges out after the years of pumpings. Situation Normal.

That's what I did (excluding the seal). I took a rag and tried to clean up the grease as best I could, but I let the shaft do its thing and finish the job and wipe up the excess after it spins off.

    Thanks again gentlemen
