Where is my brake controller plug?

'15 Tundra CM with towing package but no integrated trailer brake controller.

I'm stuck in isolation for work and am posturing myself for a few more upgrades. I want to add a trailer brake controller with the plan of getting a camper to tow this summer. So I took a peek under the dash after watching a few videos and cannot easily locate the plug for the trailer brake controller.

Note that I do have a Leer topper with an integrated anti-collision light and a interior light.

Where is the plug? Thanks, in advance.

 

Thought it was behind the panel on the right side of the steering wheel on newer models? The panel with the traction control button?

Older models it’s behind the left kick panel which looks like the photo you posted.

I watched a couple of install videos, including eTrailer. They all had it on the left side just above the kick panel. I removed the panel for the pic.

 

On my 14, it is located in the left kick panel. I don’t think it got moved until the integrated brake controllers came out, whatever year that was.
