Did you install your own camera? I watched a video, and tapping into the reverse seemed like something I would not do on my own. My local cartoys charges $150-185 for a camera+install.

Rack doctor or ebay? Are you going to replace the tie rods or leave them for now?

If you have the 7 pin trailer connector it's pretty easy to do, cut the wire, use a crimp splice, and use a piece of adhesive heat shrink and you're done.

3.5" Lift, ICON Extended Travel 2.5" Coilovers, Camburg Upper Control Arms, Total Chaos Steering Rack Bushings and Differential Drop Kit. Rear ICON Add-A-Leafs, ICON 2.0 VS Extended Travel Shocks. 16x8 SCS Ray10's and BFG All Terrain KO2's 295/75/16s
Anyone see an issue combining a small spacer/shim with the Icon 2.5s? I would like to achieve 3.5" in the front. Thanks.

Rack Doctor. I have a feeling I’ll be using their lifetime warranty.

I replaced the outers a year ago so I’ll just swap them over.

I think I do. I’ll check my spare parts bag cause I know I bought a few last time mine broke. If I’m remembering correctly it is the same little plastic clip the Chevys use too... I’ll get back to ya!

I’m running a Coach Builder Shim on top of my Icon 2.5s. I’m at about 2.75”. 3.5” might be pushing it for height wise on Coilovers unless you extend your bump stops.... Are you 4x4?

Ya I did. Luckily the previous owner had an aftermarket pioneer unit and back up camera but neither worked. So when I replaced the radio and tapped into the existing camera I was able to get everything to work thankfully.

Bought one of their racks for my old 4runner. Seemed to be good quality, but sold it before I ran into any issues.

I didn’t have any sort of lean. My truck was level with the same amount of preload on the Coilovers. It’s very easy to adjust once they’re on the truck so my advice is to keep preload the same then adjust after ride height / springs settle

Will you make a new thread when you do this? I'm pretty sure it's in my future. I'm losing PS fluid to where it starts making angry noises a month after I fill it. And I thought if you bought a new rack it came with outers as well?

What size shim? Have any issues with fitment? I went with the 700# spring so I won't need to pre-load as much as the 650# spring that comes with the Icon 2.5s. I am 4x4 and new bump stops are the next thing I was going to start looking into.

Just a heads up, eBay has a USA made rack with lifetime warranty. You have to return your original to activate your warranty and then they will give you $25 back. They also give you a prepaid shipping label for the old one. Not trying to take away from Rack Doctor just listing another option I saw. I think this is the one @Rheywood456 ordered off eBay.

I drove over to Suburban Toppers for a quote to get my topper 3rd brake light working. Scheduled for next Wednesday for $50.

Also, drove over to Maaco to ask about painting the topper. The topper I have works perfectly, expect it is the wrong color and all the clear coat has peeled off. They want $400 for Urethane+integrated clear coat with a 4 year warranty or $500 for base coat + clear coat and 5 year warranty. Does anyone have experience with painting toppers? Is this a decent deal, and more importantly, can I trust Maaco? I am not looking for fancy car show ready finish - after all, the truck has been parked outside for last 19 years anyway - but I want something that will last, say another 10 years.

    Any thoughts?

You could also get it Line-Xd in a color that matches your truck...that's what I plan to do if I can't find a matching color topper...

I believe so, I didn't measure it to be honest. I know it's longer than my dad's 5.5 foot bed on his 2018, and I know a sheet of drywall sticks out so it's shorter than 84".

My dad paid quite a bit for just the 5.5' truck bed in plain black finish. Can't even imagine the cost for the topper in color matched finish.

I will do my best but I’m no @Professional Hand Model.

Rack Doctor includes inners, not outers. Other companies might include outers but mine are a year old so good to go.

Just a heads up, Icon doesn’t recommend cranking the 700’s more than 1-3/8” of thread.

$400-$500 is probably about right. I haven't heard anything bad about Maaco. It usually comes down to the prep work. Might be able to save money if you sand it down yourself. You'll also get a better paint job if you remove the windows rather than paint around them.

You can also stick a topper made for a DC on an AC. It's not ideal but it fits. Or at least my ARE V series does.

I don't know anything about Maaco but I probably would't pay that much to paint an old topper. Have you considered just doing it yourself? @Rheywood456 painted his. It won't look as good as a professional job but I think it would look good enough.

$400 versus me dicking around for a day or two, without capability to cure it, plus I'd still need to spend decent chunk of change on paint... It seems worth it to me, and I still get a warranty.

I just ordered a rear bumper from Rock Auto. I have all the parts/hardware, so just needed metal bumper. It was $83 for the bumper, and just under $40 to ship it. I don't expect the quality to be great, but I don't care. It comes primed, I'll cover it with roll-on bed liner and it should be fine.

They do awesome work. Sounds about what I paid and it was a perfect match. Can’t speak for long term reliability since I sold it but it looked great.
