It is very likely that I will be getting a 2010 Double Cab SR5 in the next three months. I was wondering what mods you would recommend doing, preferably not thousands of dollars? I can post more info if needed. I will replace the radio and add a backup camera so if you have any recommendations, I would love to hear about those too.

Pretty good in my opinion, pic with video on Pioneer NEX-8100 HU. Great in daylight hours, grey at night (Fairly common). Considering more reverse lighting for low light. Pic probably poorer than actual.

1220181607.jpg 1220181604a.jpg 1220181604.jpg I bought a Auto-Vox M1 a few years ago and it's been really great. At that time it was $ 49.95 shipped. Pic is "washed-out" because of my phone flash but it's crystal clear. It has a "Guide Line Remove" button and picture settings adjustments. Bottom pic is where the camera mounts.

How did you run the wiring for your camera to monitor (under the bed and thru floor board drain maybe?)
    Thanks

I have the Pioneer 5201 in mine. How would I wire the factory camera to it?

Disconnect RCA plug at screen, guessing mirror, reroute cable to HU and plug in RCA plug at HU. Guessing RCA plugs are same, may not be. Also have heard there are different voltage cameras, OEM vs. aftermarket that may have to be addessed.

Not an expert, things I have read. Had an install shop install mine.

    Should be doable

Hey Kevin and rnicholls, wiring was so simple, even I could do it:eek: Power is gained from inside the Tail light housing. Just Tap into the reverse circuit after running the wire under your truck. Wire is easily tucked down along the bottom corner of the dash and inside weather strip running down along the door. When you guys get it 'in-hand',it'll be clearer. Any more questions/concerns, I'll be around, just ask:thumbsup:

So.. Tailgate > passenger tail > under truck > cab? I read somewhere to come up under the passenger seat.

I went the shortest route into the Driver's side tail light. Pretty straight shot from where my screen is mounted. Getting down through to the underside just took some lookin' and probin' but access was more direct than I thought. From there, it's a straight shot to the power source.

I have the Auto-Vox as well, and went the passenger's footwell route. There's a plug you can pop out and put the cable through. There was just enough to get from the driver's side dash to the rear passenger's light. As stated earlier though, it's pretty intuitive once you get going.

    Cheers!

Under the rear seats are a couple of rubber plugs. I made a small hole in one and ran the wires up through. Since it's rubber the small hole stretched for the wire to go through and self sealed.
