Wanting to install a front camera on my 2016 tundra. It has a backup camera already on it.
Any suggestions of what kind and how to go about hooking it up to the display in the truck
with maybe a switch to cut it off and on?

If u want to connect it to your Entune you will need to get a video interface. Look on YouTube for to get an idea of how it works. I got mine from NavTv.com. Total was $220 with interface and camera. Had it installed at local audio shop. I'm not too handy :(
Anyways works great! I use it for parking only since it's a big truck... I'm not good driver :(

    Good luck

Yes, you connect it to a toggle switch to turn on/off anytime. Some on YouTube have it setup as two way switch so they can turn forward or reverse camera on anytime.

I've thought about doing the same thing using this camera:

    https://www.amazon.com/iNewcow-Embe...&qid=1474470432&sr=8-1&keywords=toyota+camera

It supposedly fits in the Toyota emblem on the front grill. When I researched it, once the camera has power and sends a signal to the Etune head unit, it will automatically change the screen to show the camera image. This is as far as I have gotten in the research. It sounds like you mount the camera, splice the camera wires into the reverse camera wires on the Etune, then wire a switch to power the front camera.

If you try it, please post your results as it might be the push I need to do it on my own truck.

mine is aftermarket, hooked to rear view mirror. When I go into reverse ,the rear camera shows .When I start driving ,the front shows and I can turn it off with mirror on/off button. The only thing I don't like is the front camera is just glued to grille right now. I like the emblem idea.

Wow! A 10 dollar diode??? I think I'm in the wrong business if there are people that will pay that kind of money for a 50-cent part!

A little of this and a little of that.
I like the emblem grille camera but I have the Pro grille so I'd have nowhere to put this one.

Anyone ever used one of these systems to connect a remote camera to the rear of a camp trailer. Wireless systems can have problems sending signal, so looks to me like a hardwired system might be best.

Funny you should bring this up. I just acquired a camper trailer and am researching how I might integrate the rear camper cam with the FRAC harness.
