Just got my front camera and would like to know if anyone has hooked one up to yet to the Tesla head unit?

Hey, did you ever install this? I’ve got a backup camera thru my pioneer deck that comes on when in reverse, but what I’ve wondered about these front cameras is when do they come on? I thought you couldn’t have them on when in gear going forward, but that’s kinda when you need a front view camera, right? Do you use a relay to trick it like I had to do to watch dvds on my deck when driving back in the day? Thanks for the info...

Not sure what the pioneer has for camera inputs but the Phoenix tesla HU has three inputs that you can use. If you only have one input for camera then you will have to use a splitter like the FRAC
    https://www.tundras.com/posts/968132/
But I'm not sure if it will work with 2nd gen Tundras. Phoenix does make a switch box
    https://www.phoenixautomotiveinc.co...ar-camera-automatic-control-module-switch-box
that would work with any rear camera that has RCA camera connection. One thing I would like to duplicate in my Tundra Phoenix HU is the way my wife's 2018 Highlander fwd cam works, when forward motion is below 5 mph the front cam comes on.

Did you figure out a way to reverse the camera view?
I have a front camera (made as rear camera) the video feed comes in reserve..

All the rear cameras I’ve installed have had a tiny button on a module where the wires come out that changes the setting.

Nope. The FRAC is for 3rd gens and I’ve got a 2nd. I’m just wondering, since my pioneer avic-8200nex has 2 camera inputs, maybe one would work while driving (or slowly pulling into a parking space). I’m not sure how to test this.

With my Phoenix head unit when I select the cam icon then it will display one that is highlighted of three cams (front, side, rear) and when the truck is put in reverse it will override and display the rear cam.

    Back to work...

I do, I have a pretty high end pioneer. I have an available camera input so I ordered a camera today. I’m pretty certain, from a number of videos, that I can run front and back cameras on my screen, even when in gear.
