Air injection pump question

So, I have a 2011, and reading everyone's problems with these pumps and the quotes from the dealership is starting to scare me. I am curious if there is something I can put on the end of the trumpets to avoid this from happening!

How many miles on your 2011? I also have a 2011 and my first one went out around 105k-108k. There is an upgraded air inlet tube (aka: trumpet) that you can swap out, as far as something to put over it, maybe some molded fiberglass to keep water out but with space to let air in.

 

FYI: I just recently posted a thread about this, look at the DIY section, should be near the bottom of the list, you'll see a picture with the new trumpet.
