Just installed my new Ultra-Gauge in my 18 Tundra CM with 5.7L v-8.

At WOT (pedal to the floor), it shows the actual and commanded throttle position maxing out at 82.4%. It feels like WOT, but the throttle position sensor apparently begs to differ. Is there a calibration I need to do (either on truck or UG), is this an error, or am I missing 17.6% of throttle position, and thus not achieving full power? It ramps up to 82.4% and then holds there.

TC applies the brakes. Shouldn't affect throttle.

I haven’t checked throttle position, but the carpet prevents full travel of the gas pedal. There is a little more travel if modded. I’m not sure that will improve it, and doubt its worth messing with personally.
    Tc reduces engine power also.

I guess the timing is changed with tow haul mode to get better engine response than the throttle body opening.

No timing changes, just increases throttle response(basically tip in), and different transmission parameters. The last thing you would do when towing or hauling would be increasing timing, and that’s where power gains would be.

That would make sense so the piston doesn’t magically get destroyed.

Maybe 82.4% is the optimum set value....

I think it would go higher with full pedal travel, but doubt it would make even a c hair of a difference. There is almost no scenario that our engines can even use more than 82.4% naturally aspirated, maybe with some forced air. So i agree.:D

Take a look at what I came up with, I think with carpet and mats you should get WOT unless you are into shag carpet.

Good info! Keep in mind that electronic gauges are not super accurate, and I think you guys might be looking at different parameters. Yours is throttle blade position, think he is looking at desired/commanded fuel. Been awhile so bit rusty, could be wrong.
