I used a bully dog tuner on my 2015 Tundra. Now truck ECU is all messed up. They need me to remove it to send to them to fix and return. Please I need to remove this in the next few hours. Can someone please tell me where this is located.
    Thanks so much

    Thanks for all
    Your advice.
The truck is now at a Toyota dealership. And the tuner has been returned to Bully Dogs. Never to be used again. Dealer says that two ECUs and not communicating with each other. Hope to get my boy back soon.

Yeah, in curious too. I run a Bully Dog and have flashed my ECU quite a few times with no issues what so ever.

When you first plug in the bully dog it takes a long time to get everything squared away before you can tune the truck. You can update your tuner on the PC or via Wi-Fi while you’re plugged in to the truck. You need to have that battery on a charger while doing so.
Now if I want to change anything I don’t plug it in to the charger. No problems.

IMO,tuners are just not worth it.In order to gain 30hp (in the higher rpm range) you need to run premium fuel which is .40 cents more per gallon here in VT.

I trust Toyota's tuning more than anything else.

Too much to lose in my opinion with an aftermarket tuner.

I have flashed mine numerous times, mostly when going to the dealership though. It's been installed for 3 years and 60,000 miles later still runs great. I never used a charger the first time and it installed fine, but I have used one ever since then just as precautionary messure.

Hope all goes well with the truck.

I didn’t buy mine so much as to get “moar powa” There are a lot of features that come with it that I like. It has cleaned up the way the truck shifts as well as adjustability of the throttle response. I can clear and read DTC‘s as well as a few other options. My truck is running just fine. Many times it’s user error as to why something went wrong. I have used tuners on many vehicles for years without issues. I gave my mom my old Dodge ram that I had a tuner on it. It’s still running to this day at over 180,xxx miles. It is a Dodge so it had a few other issues but nothing to do with the engine. I use the tuner to clean up the driving experience. Which it does to my liking. Not necessarily to squeeze out every horsepower.

if the truck shifts like garbage maybe it’s broke, or could have bought F150 w ten speed.

I don’t get putting these add ons to a new vehicle to make them “better”....

How does buying a truck with more gears fix a buyers desire to have different shift points then what Toyota set from the factory?

Is it ok to put a tuner on a used truck if not a new truck?

I’m sure everybody has a disposable budget to allow the purchase of 5 or 6 vehicles so that every need is met by at least one.... and the way it came from the factory... cause they are always right.
Maybe don’t assume that because you don’t want it doesn’t mean that others won’t as well.

Let’s slow down here and take a look at the facts:
1 Op is new and has a catastrophic failure and an issue with a highly used piece of gear. Not calling him a liar but maybe some more info or some kind of proof of this happening.
    2. No updates with any information after he got the location he was after.

I have been the victim of a failed FICM on a diesel a few weeks after purchasing a tuner as well. That was a $1000 repair bill I didn’t want to have. Couldn’t prove the tuner did or didn’t do it. I had that truck another 3 years before getting my Tacoma with not a single problem. Those tuners were way more advanced then the options on this bully dog for our trucks and that was almost a decade ago. It was great I could adjust performance on the fly. Gas mileage tune, stock or full on race mode.... yup I can’t see the practicality in that all.

Also I do have a bulldog on the Tundra. Its no Nastruck but it’s my opinion everybody should buy one. Just make sure you listen to the warning on the first screen!!

You want to turn off your seatbelt chime, Bully Dog will do it. Want to change your shift points, Bully Dog will do it. Want too change throttle pedal sensitivity, Bully Dog will do it. Want to change shift points, Bully Dog will do it. Want to change door lock functions, Bully Dog will do it. Want to monitor trans temp, coolant temp, intake temp, etc, with real numbers, Bully Dog will do it. Want to adjust mph for oversized tires, Bully Dog will do it. Etc, etc, etc...

Some of us, especially with out of warranty older trucks, would like to have these options.

Well. Have anyone measured the throttle position at work? With the BD? member on forum says full pedal is only 86 percent or something.

I did a test, on the bully dog it says 68% is full open reads 67% when fully depressed. My pedal has been shimed and by the feel of it you should WFO with about 3/8" to spare before pedal fully depressed.

Toyota sets WOT at 68%, don’t know why but it is truly WOT. These tuners are a like or dislike add on for people that want a little something different with their vehicle. If you don’t like them that’s fine, and your opinion is your opinion. Fact is they do work and they do change the driving experience and add options that you wouldn’t have otherwise. So there is no reason to try and make it sound like those of us that use them are idiots because we purchase items that modify our vehicles to make them different from the next. One other thing, scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best Ford rates a 2.
