I cannot find the thread/post talking about a recently "over the air" update that allowed the "passenger" to accept the disclaimer and enter navigation inputs when driving.

Anyone able to help guide me that way please?

i don't think Toyota would ever allow that to happen. on the liability front, they couldn't distinguish who is doing the inputs on the screen.

Correct but it's not rocket science for them to figure out if there's a passenger in the car and give a disclaimer as well.

I could have swore someone said that they just did an update and they found this "new" feature

    Nothing major
If the airbag sensor knows there is a passenger, this should be possible also.

but again how do you tell that the passenger is doing the inputs on the screen? just because you have a weight in the passenger seat doesn't mean the driver isn't doing the inputs. you can fool the sensor by putting a decent weighted object in the passenger seat.

its the same as the old McDonalds hot coffee issue. have to dumb down to the lowest denominator.
