    The FRAC harness is a plug and play modification that enables Front and Rear Anytime Camera display on your Entune Head Unit (and most After-market head units if you use plug and play adapters). You provide the front camera, and the FRAC harness kit will provide everything else. Additionally, for vehicles with OEM navigation, the FRAC harness will enable all nav functions, all the time, with a Vehicle In Motion (VIM) switch. For more details, you can view a FRAC Harness installation video here:

    http://youtu.be/VpYwnwM28FQ

    FRAC Harness kit for all latest Gen Tundras (2014 - 2021) and other Toyota Vehicles : $170.00 plus tax and shipping.

    Applicable sales tax will be added for Texas shipping addresses. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail (with tracking number) to U.S. addresses only.

    Also after much effort I have now sourced an OEM Style FRAC Camera selection switch (Pic Below) and as of January 2023 all 2020+ harnesses include pre-wired illumination wires for the OEM Style switches.

    To order, you can visit the FRAC Harness Website

    You may order multiple harnesses if you'd like. The FRAC Harness will work with the latest generation 4Runners and Tacomas as well.

    For 1794, Platinum, and some Limited models, there are no blank factory switch locations in the cab, so you will need to determine a location for your two switches. A convenient place to install them is in the ledge above the accessory power panel as seen below. (Thanks @BlueBottle for use of the pictures). For all other vehicles the switches will include a switch bezel that will plug into factory blank switch locations. If you have a Limited model. Please let me know if you need any switch bezels for open switch positions or if you need to mount the switches like the PRO or 1794 as pictured below:

    =============================================

    OLD original post #1

    I've had a couple weeks with the FRAC-AV harness installed now, and I've discovered a few things. Namely, I REALLY like the front Camera feature, I've used the motion Bypass a couple times for GPS entries on the move, and I've hardly used the AV function.

    I've had a few folks inquire about buying a harness and I'm considering building a few for sale. I think the most popular features will be the Front/Rear Anytime Cam and the Motion bypass. I'm working on streamlining the design to make it easier to manufacture and install. So I've posted a poll to see what, if any, the interest is in the various functions.

    I'm just pondering at this point, but if there is enough interest and if I can reduce the complexity, maybe I'll sell a few.

    Funny to me that my truck is now considered old lol

    I have a 2013 with Nav. Any idea if this would work for me? I would be interested in anytime rear and front camera. I dont use my nav

    I'm refining the design a bit and getting alternate parts pricing... I should have a better idea of initial pricing in a week or so.

    I have the pricing figured out for the first batch of FRAC harness kits. The kit would consist of everything you need EXCEPT the Front Camera. There are lots of camera options out there from $20 on up, depending on where/how you want to mount them, B/W vs Color, Day/Night, Field of view, etc. So I'm leaving the camera decision up to you. As long as you buy a 12 Volt DC camera, it will work with the FRAC harness. This is the camera I bought and it works great!

    The fabricated harness kit WILL include the following:

    • 1 complete FRAC harness, fabricated with all components, wiring, pins, and connectors, ready to install
    • 1 Front/Rear cam select switch - SPDT Rocker
    • 1 GPS motion bypass switch - SPST Rocker
    • 2 Blank Toyota Switch Covers (for installing switches)
    The harness will give you the ability to view video anytime from either your new front camera or the factory rear camera. If you have the factory Nav system, it will also allow you to bypass the motion interlock so that all Entune GPS functions are available all the time. It works on 2014 - 2017 Tundras.

    My first run will be 10 harnesses. So if I can get 10 committed buyers, the FRAC harness kit price will be $100.00 each, plus shipping (U.S. Only). Some of the components have up to a 2 to 5 week lead-time after ordering. If I get the 10 committments, I will get the parts on order and start fabricating as the parts come in.

    Thus far I have interest from the following seven folks:

    @dcsleeper408
    @strosek7
    @jcanchol
    @Coolhardy
    @AxelsHumanDad
    @MikeyMTBs
    @payyourtoll

    As soon as 10 have committed, I will provide my paypal contact info and collect all payments. Once all payments are in, I will then order all the parts and materials and start fabricating. Orders will be filled as harnesses are completed, in the order they are received, and I will send a final shipping cost invoice based on the address you provide. Once shipping is paid, the harness will ship and I will provide the tracking number.

    Let me know if you are seriously interested in the FRAC harness and maybe we'll get enough folks to make this happen!

    I've decided, based on the polling data, to include the anytime cam and the GPS Motion bypass functionality for the harness.

    Great work Tex. Did you ever have luck finding a factory looking SPDT rocker switch to fit the toy openings?

    Sadly, no. But if you run across one in your searches please let me know! I chose the round rockers because they provide the easiest mod to the blank plates (i.e. a round hole). The rectangular switch like I used for my motion bypass take too much time to cut. So I found a round SPST that will come with the FRAC kit for that as well.

    Few questions

    1) is there any cutting or modifying of any part of the factory harnesss?

    2) can you show what the switches look like?

    3) have any idea where to mount the switches for Platinum and 1794 guys? We don't have any blanks...

    Question......Will this work on a non nav oem radio ? I have the Entune Audio Plus (w/o App Suite/Data ) 7" Hi Res Touch Screen/Bluetooth/USB/Aux/HD Radio/Traffic/Weather/CD/SXM. 2015 by the way. Is there an option to do side cameras too ? Thanks much...

    Edited: Yes. As long as you have the OEM Head Unit, the FRAC harness works with all 3rd Gen Tundras (2014 - 2019).

    As for the side cameras. This design adds one additional anytime camera input and makes the factory rear camera available anytime as well. The design concept could be extended to accomodate two additional side cameras fairly easily. But I haven't done that to date.

    Thanks for that quick reply. I will try to do some research on the wiring if you can on your end too. If we can figure out if this conversion will work on the non-nav unit, I will buy one in a heartbeat. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me. Nice job........

    1. There are NO mods to any factory harnesses. You will unplug two factory harnesses from the HU and connect them to one end of the FRAC harness. Then you'll plug the other end of the FRAC harness into the HU. All mods are accomodated in the FRAC harness.

    2. See Pics below:

    Camera select switch. Up(-) is Forward, Down (=) is Rear.
    IMG_2397.jpg

    The Motion Bypass switch is mounted in the lower center power panel. The kit will include a round SPST (on-off) switch that looks like the cam select switch, rather than the rectangular switch shown below in my prototype.

    IMG_2512.jpg

    3. Platinum and 1794 trucks have no spare switch positions. The switches can be mounted in the ledge above the accessory power panel.

    Could you do me a favor and let me know what Platinum switches are located in the spots I showed?

    I sure will. Aironboard.com had a ton of Toy specific switches - I'll look to see if they have a SPDT that might fit. Otherwise, the round rocker would work fine. For the SPST, could you use just a on/off push switch? There are plenty of push switches available that fit that size blank. Otherwise the round rocker works fine there, too.

    Or better yet, can you remove the need for a switch in the "anytime" circuit? Why not have it wired "on" all the time?
