I'm curious about this as well. Has anyone got XM working on the 2nd gen unit?

https://youtu.be/S5HDgPnv41Q Has anyone saw this? This guy is claiming that the android system is already installed in the stock head unit? What's up with this?

I am still on the fence. I really like my physical control knobs!
Mine is working fine and doing everything I want it to do with one thing.
I just wish the mic was somehow wired to my truck's original mic.
I think that would get rid of most of that "Noise" the bezel mic produces and people could hear me better.

I do like that the V2 model's screen and the electronics are separate and could be potentially up-gradable from one another.
I guess I have until Sunday to decide.......

Not sure this would work with the Phoenix Tesla unit. Part of the description stated:
    • works only with in-dash receivers with the SiriusXM-Ready logo
Has anyone actually hooked this up to the unit?

I don't know about your radio but could you download the XM app and play it that way if it didn't work.
Call Crutchfield maybe they would know.
It's free anyway maybe it's worth a shot.

I wouldn't know, check the connector and see if they are the same.
I was just throwing this out there.
I like that Android radio a lot but I listen to XM.

Same here. I’m trying to decide if I should invest in upgrading the headlights or this.
    It just looks amazing.

Headlights for sure. Some nice retros or 2018 LEDs. I did the 2018s and they are the best thing I did on my truck.
I've read a bunch of stories about these headunits being problematic.

Ohh yeah this units are a headache, the idea is good but poor execution and hardware, looks too ricey for my taste.

Imagine this, if the unit is not upgradable you will need to spend more money everytime they upgrade the unit, I recommend to get a good Alpine, Kenwood or Pioneer with CarPlay or Android Auto and call it a day. Just my 2 cents on this.

Anybody else seen android v7.1.1 on the old V1 frame? Here is a screen shot with link to a video from a place called Kirinavi. This might mean there is a v7.1.1 ROM for the V1 out there.... Interesting.
Still trying to decide on the V2....

Of course this could be a faked v4.X like the current V1 that says 6.x. The only way to really know for sure is to multiple tap the version number to see what displays. If you get a big K on the screen then you are on the 4.X version no matter what it says on the version screen.

Off Topic- Just from a safety perspective you really need to upgrade your headlights as well. The stock headlights are too dim. I got some LED headlights and fog's from Headlight Revolution. Stock 400LUX vs 1400LUX with LED's. I am quite happy with them and can now see the road and if any critters are waiting to jump out at me.

I’ve been on the fence too. Definitely looks sexy. But it occurred to me that I don’t drive a toyo because of its looks, I drive it because it works. If I wanted max bling regardless of quality I’d buy an Escalade. (No offense if you like Cadi’s, maybe they are better nowadays)
I’m no computer wiz either so it’s likely my fist would end up going through that beautiful screen anyway.
If it was made by Pioneer, Alpine or Kenwood I’d pay $3k for it, knowing it was 99% dialed and there would be support from the company and scores of users with help and advise.
I have no idea what company even builds these units.
Good luck to those who do it.
