Hi, I'm new to the forums. I've bad my 14 Tundra for 2 years now. I was always a Ford guy until my last F-150 turned into a pile of junk. I then switched to Toyota and have never looked back. I love everything about the truck, except the MPG, but that's beating a dead horse on these trucks. Looking forward to sharing thoughts, insights, asking questions, and answering questions!

I came from a Superduty myself. I liked the truck and kinda missed it at first. I'm not missing the maintenance it required and how expensive it was just to keep it moving. While it got better mileage, the price of diesel fuel eats the difference up. I've had my 2013 for a few months and it has really grown on me.

So far, only a Westin Bull Bar and a Flowmaster 10 Series exhaust. I plan on changing the grill to a TRD Pro grill, and lifting the truck, only I'm absolutely lost on lift research. I plan on spending hours browsing the forums here for answers!

I had a 2004 with the 5.4 motor. That had issues with the clutch packs at 25,000 miles and the cam shaft went at 65,000 miles. My 2011 had the 3.5L EcoBoost. That truck had constant problems with the turbo and I had to have the turbo replaced three times because a faulty design was causing moisture to build up somewhere.

The gas mileage you're getting is exactly what I'm getting in my truck. I've only had minor issues with my truck, but all were fixed under recall notices.

Thanks, that's a huge help. My only concern with the lift kits (which I will look up and discuss on the proper pages) is that I read and hear so many different things from so many different people. Just the other guy, one of the guys at the Toyota dealer told me not to do a 6 inch lift. Apparently, every person who has bought a lifted Tundra from them has come back in needing new power steering racks. He said the steering racks are getting bent because of the lifts. To me, it just sounds like the lifts either weren't installed properly, or the right OEM parts weren't replaced with aftermarket parts, and therefore causing excessive wear. I have no clue what a proper lift needs to prevent this kind of premature wear. I have a lot to learn on here :)

6" look nice, but for all function wise with looks 3-4" Max IMO.

I don't have experience with 6" lifts on Tundras myself but I have heard of the steering rack problem. Had a 6" lift on my Tacoma without issue but the tundra is a different animal.
