It’s gonna be ok. And we are :) year 2030 refresh calling my name, maybe. Fear not do I though when my warranty expires.

Edit. A 2.5G will be better in every way when a 3G engine blows out of warranty. There ya go, new material

Exactly! And save the discussions for the forum threads discussing the recall and the defective motors… which is right here.

New news: another 2025 ate a bearing as reported on Facebook. So, it’s a fact that Toyota hasn’t fixed this defect yet and there is no “safe build date” either. Toyota is still offering a 12 month, 12K miles warranty on short and long blocks while Ford is offering a 10 year 150K mile warranty on their defective motors. Also a fact: both short blocks and long blocks (crate motors used for the recall) have experienced the same failure for a second time. When Toyota steps up and offers a 10 year 150K warranty, you’ll know they’re confident they’ve actually fixed the problem. Until then, with the 12/12K warranty it’s all just Lipstick on a pig IMO.

I am not out to ruin anyone's "experience" with their truck and I am glad your wind noise is getting fixed. Your posts about how much better your truck is and how Toyota will take care of everything a sounds like it came straight from a Toyota influencer. You want to know what Toyotas really like to deal with, then lookup this thread from Northerntundra's experience, from back in late 2022.

I understand there’s problems. Which Toyota is owning up to and fixing. I’ve been on Ford forums, GM forums, and Ram forums. I can tell you there’s a TON more horror stories over there. Did you not see all the 6.2 V8’s that were recalled by GM? And what is GM’s response? Instead of replacing all the engines, on some of them they’re just inspecting and putting slightly thicker oil in it. Every manufacturer has their issues. I feel like Toyota’s still treating their customers better than the other manufacturers.

I do agree that prices are crazy and big corp only cares about bottom line ...just saying I personally have not had a single issue with my 24.

My dated 2016 was and still is an awesome truck, it was tough to let it go and if I was original owner I probably wouldn't of done it. That said, the new platform is amazing and works with me only averaging 8-10k miles a year. You make a fair point owning out of warranty and for people that rack up a bunch of miles yearly.

Should’ve been thicker oil to begin with.

My 2023 Tundra engine failed at 32000 miles. My vin wasn’t part of the recall.

Driving down the highway, heard a noise in the engine, lights started flashing and I pulled over. Oil pressure dropped, engine was shaking bad and growling. Shutdown the engine and investgated the engine to find oil coming somewhere from the front of the engine.

Sorry that happened, seems like they're starting to fail again during the summer months?

Dang, that sucks. You are at the exact average mileage for a failure according to the spreadsheet. Sorry.

They've never given a specific date when they've update the release schedule. It has always been by month or quarter.

They should at least include new turbos with the short block. There’s no telling if metallic debris from the destroyed crankshaft bearing didn’t circulate through the oil passageways of the turbos.
