TRD PRO/SR5/Limited and 1794/PLATINUM/2018SR5 Harness for 2018 LED Headlights.

If anyone is interested in a harness please PMe to confirm availability, the installation for the 1794/Platinum/2018SR5 models is completely Plug N Play, for TRD PRO/SR5/Limited Models only few connections and Amber DRL delete MOD are required to power LED DRLs but nothing to worry even if you don't have any knowledge in electrical wiring my instructions and pictures make it a simple job. The LED DRL will work as factory with dimming function and the best of all if you follow all my directions zero permanent damage to factory wiring so is totally reversible to factory stock headlights just in case you sell or trade in your truck.

You will receive the harness in pictures only and you need to buy the Motocontrol H4/9003 separate from The Retrofitsource.

Price will be $120 for the 1794/Platinum/2018SR5 (Include turn signal adapters to avoid hyper flashing), $160 for the TRD PRO/SR5/Limited with factory dimming function as 1794/Platinum and finally only if requested I can also make the harness without dimming so your DRL stay bright all the time only for PRO/SR5/Limited price is $135, all prices include free shipping in the US continental states only (Canadian buyers please contact first for shipping quote). Payment method is PayPal when sending me a PM please include your email address for PayPal invoice purposes. Price include free shipping in the US only.

    Warranty

All my harnesses come with a 1 Year limited warranty for any issue as the result of manufacturing defect from my part, we will do some quick troubleshooting first, and if necessary, I can provide a replacement.

    ATTN:
Please make sure your PayPal confirmed shipping address is updated to current residence to avoid any possible package loss, Once you paid for invoice I'll ship to the PayPal provided address unless you indicate a different place to ship.

All credits for main harness design is for @thomasbus337:bowdown: who identified all parts needed and each wire function in the 8 way connector thank you. All harnesses using 16 Ga GXL automotive wire, OEM connectors and terminals from Yazaki, Sumitomo, Delphi and Toyota, all wiring covered with TechFlex braided sleeve and heat shrinks tubing it will match the Morimoto Motocontrol look. Wire length for the Hi/Lo connectors will be 18" and 15" for the LED DRLs connector, that was enough for mine when installed.

Pictures of my harnesses and options

    1794/Platinum $120

TRD PRO/SR5/LIMITED with factory dimming as trucks with LEDs from factory $160

    IMG_0130.jpg

TRD PRO/SR5/LIMITED without dimming LED DRLs (Bright mode all the time) $135

Personally don't like this option I like better the factory dimming function but I can do this one by request, this work fuse tapped to the IGN fuse your DRL will be ON as soon as you turn your key to the ACC position.

    Installation guides

In this video, it show almost all the details needed to disassemble your front grill check for any clips left on remove them and relocate in their place.

Warning: Battery must be disconnected prior installation, remove negative terminal and cover it with a rag to keep it safe.

H4 Morimoto Motocontrol installation (FOR ALL TRIMS)

To mount the Motocontrol relay the place I used is the bolt in battery bracket, I put together a few pictures, some of them from other users

Pin Terminal reconfiguratio (Not required anyone just in case someone still needs this info)

The harness is plug and play for 1794/Platinum models, you only have to switch pins in turn signals this is really simple with a small flat head screw driver remove the white tab locking pins in the turn signals socket, with the screw driver push down the little tabs keeping terminals in place and pulling gently the wire from back all this at the same time, then move your white/black stripped wire from center location (Pin #2) to the outer pin (Pin #1) see pictures below.

    1794:Platinum Directional Plug Rewire.jpg

    1. With a small flat screw driver remove white plastic cover (do this process in both driver and passenger side)

    IMG_0357.jpg

    IMG_0358.jpg

    2. Using the flat screw driver push down the locking clip while pulling wire from back at the same time

    IMG_0359.jpg

    Plug original wire location

    IMG_0360.jpg

After you rewired plug must look like this, don't forget to reuse the black rubber cavity plug in center location

In cab remove the dash panel to make the DRL delete mod and relay installation.

    De-pining gray wire

ATTN: If you want to keep your amber DRL and LEDs just ignore this step and tap the black wire from my harness relay to gray wire. See picture below.

Keeping your Amber and LED DRL (Optional)

    To Keep Amber DRL1.jpg

    Installing the Relay

Once the gray wire is depined/cut from flasher relay you are ready for this step,

2018 TUNDRA Headlights LED DRL Relay.jpg

    Ground from relay1.jpg

Connect the exposed male terminal crimped in the black wire to the gray wire and then cover the connection using shrink wraps.

    Ground from relay.jpg

    Getting power for DRL High

Any 12v IGN activated power source can be used for this step (in-line fused to battery, fuse tap), this is just an example for what I did in my ’16 TRD PRO. ATTN: some differences in wiring are causing problems with some guys doing this please reviews the next pictures and use the correct wire for your trim level. I Highly recommend to buy a Polarity test light to find your own power supply, if not feel free to use the pictures bellow or like other members did your can extend the wire and fuse tap to IGN fuse in hood fuses box.

    PRO, SR5, LIMITED

For 12V ACC switched power we have to use this black wire in pictures

    IMG_0332.jpg

    IMG_0327.jpg

Routing wire from hood to cab

Route the wire coming from hood through firewall grommet nipple to power DRL Hi from red wire coming from relay in cab.

    IMG_3190 LABEL.jpg

    IMG_0337.jpg

    IMG_0338.jpg

Once you finally have the lead in cab connect it to the red wire coming from relay this uses specific connector so no way to get confused on this

    IMG_0290.jpg

    Suggested mounting place for relay

    Relay mounting place.jpg

Pin Terminal reconfiguration (Not required for harnesses made and shipped after 01/20/2018)

This step was replaced with this turn signal adapters:

    FFD70777-5B97-4052-BAEE-F0C7EBFDE501.jpg

But only if you still have the old style harness follow this:

You just have to move the white/black wire from center to outer location were you go to remove the purple wire. This is a easy process the connectors have a white pin retainer to lock the terminals in place, using a small flat screw driver remove the white tab, after that the tabs to release the terminal is exposed soft pulling the wire from back and pushing the tab down to release the terminals. This is needed on both driver and passenger side. Side Note: Purple/Violet wire is completely removed from connector.

    1794:Platinum Directional Plug Rewire.jpg

    Un-Pinning.jpg

    TRD PRO Reconfigured pins 1.jpg

Once you have this done please make sure to do this, I'm including 2 cavity plugs in every kit for the center MT space (Purple/Violet removed completely leaving a MT slot in connector) to be safe and weather proof the connections.

    TRD PRO Reconfigured pins 2.jpg

    DRL Lo CP.jpg

    Powering DRL Low

In my harness each side LED DRL Harness have this purple male terminals

    IMG_9095.jpg

And this is what you have to do with this to keep in use. In your turn signals connector use the removed purple/violet female terminal to mate with the exposed male terminal in my DRL harness on each driver and passenger side. ATTN: I highly recommend use of dielectric grease on this step before mating terminals and finally after that cover with heat shrink tubes to weather proof the connection.

    DRL Low 1.jpg

    DRL Low 2.jpg

    DRL Low 3.jpg

Once you have done all this steps, connect your negative battery terminal, check for correct functionality and only if everything works now is time to put everything back in place you are all set, enjoy your new headlights.

I hope this guide help, this is how my truck is wired. Thank you for your support guys.

Please you have to understand you are doing this modification at your own risk, and I have no liability for any damage you could cause if you don’t follow my directions for this install. Zero issues reported at this time but this clarification is just in case.

Yours is the cleanest harness I seen! Very professionally made.

I would buy this if I didn't have mine. Great price!

Yes switch pins is required on all models, this is because our trucks have the ground wire in a different pin Toyota used a different bulb in 18 models , this isn't hard to do is really simple, if we don't do this our turn signal bulb hyperflash

Fogs keep untouched with this MOD, You have to install the motocontrol harness from The Retrofitsource to make your high beams work this and switch pins in the turn signals is a must for the install

Something is missing. Guys do I have to install the Motocontrol relay in order for the 2018 LED lights on my 2014 1794 Edition. I just got the LED lights and the harness from iHacker. If so where do I get it from. Please advise.
