I may have been fooled, I thought I had a good eye. Two years ago this month it was time again for the timing belt to be replaced at 240,000 miles in my 01 Tundra SR5 4.7 W/Off Road Package. I did what I figured was smart and purchased the Aisin kit TKT-O21 I think was the part number. Well here 24 months later at 253,000 miles and I have a failing water pump.
I noticed it last week the first time that whirring sound coming from the engine. Then this week I smelled strong antifreeze yesterday coming home. Found antifreeze pooled up under the intake and spraying out the bottom of the engine up front. The kit was purchased off Amazon. I'm now learning there are really good fakes being sold in those kits. Has anyone else heard of this? Also does anyone think that this could be another issue please advise. Thanks for the input in advance.

    Under the intake?

The body of the water pump generall sits BELOW and PROUD to the level/plane of the intake valley. If you're seeing puddling UNDER the intake, that would lead me to strongly believe one of the gaskets at the top of the water pump like this (or see this thread) failed, or FIPG used at/on the water pump at t-stat or similar failed, or the coolant crossover tube gasket (see video below) is your problem, not the water pump.

Not saying you didn't get bogus kit on scAmazon. Someone else reported getting a sketch one on there prior, and when they contacted Aisin, Aisin asked them to ship it in to them for replacement, but I don't remember hearing any confirmation on bogus vs. OK.

You were correct, it was that darn little 5cent o-ring that was the culprit. Man what a lot of work for something that appears so insignificant. "Appears" is the gotcha word here. Goes to prove don't judge an o-ring....
    Thanks for all the input.
