@D.doherty377 everything you need is linked from this thread, service manuals and wiring diagrams are a few sentences in: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

    TRUST ME ON THIS:

You're going to want to read the "Audio, audio upgrades and cameras..." section in the 1st reply of that thread, I'll link it again for you: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

The fact you're asking for "SR5 model" and ignoring there are wildly different installations for access cab, regular cab, and double cab alone, forget about the fact your access cab has no less than two possible variations that use totally different pinouts...

Seriously. Read that section of that thread. BEFORE you start cutting wires. BEFORE you order things you can't use. BEFORE you even think about getting started. We've seen too much stupid shit at this forum!

I will check it out and thank you. I'm not ignoring that it's an access cab, just didn't feel the need to add that because I will know if it's the right diagram when I see it. I've been a mechanic for 10 years homie and I'm ASE certified. That being said I will take all the help I can get because this truck is my baby.

ASE certification means jack shit for this; I worked as an audio installer at a shop that competed in IASCA but you don't see me flexing that homie

Main reason I point out the cab thing and I'm taking a minute to warn you:
    • You need to figure out if you have an OEM amp BEFORE you try to update audio, unless you like surprises/headaches
    • Not all 1st gens use OEM amplifier, so figuring out if you have one before you unplug anything is important
    • OEM amp location varies (if present):
      • Earlier years and regular cabs: It's in the dash
      • Later years acces cab: It's under back seat, passenger side (if so equipped)
      • Later years double cab: It's behind back wall cover, driver side (if so equipped)
    • Amp brand varies (JBL or Fujitsu), and each brand has its own harness
    • The JBL-equipped trucks use 6 channels, 2ohm per channel, which can fry aftermarket head units (this is one of a couple "AHA! Gotcha!" pitfalls to these trucks)
    • OEM amp needs to be bypassed (ideal) or adapted/ported (not ideal) if the vehicle has it
    • If you choose to adapt/port the app, depending on your kit, you need to "prep" the OEM amp (for JBL systems), like the PAC brand kit wants you to pre-set the radio to 3/4 volume with key ON before you turn OFF the car and install their kit
Look dude. I'm not telling you this for my health. I'm giving you fair warning to not make dumbass mistakes we've seen other people make on here.

And that's my last word on it, take it or leave it. Seriously, if you have questions, ask. We can save you a shitload of hurtin'.

PS - Whatever you choose to do, adapter harnesses for any of the three system variations outlined above - i.e. no amp, JBL amp, Fujitsu amp - only cost $8-15 depending whether you go w/ Scosche or Metra. We've seen more than one person come through here asking for wiring diagrams because they intend to cut the factory harnesses to install their aftermarket stereo. That kind of behavior is reserved for assholes, hacks and cheapskates, knowing how cheap the adapters are, if that's the current plan of action and reason behind wanting the EWD for your truck ... dude, don't be that guy.

Wasn't meant to be a "flex" lol. Just giving some back story. I apologize if I offended you, like I said I'll take all the help I can get.

Oh, my dude, you're reading tone into my posts that's not there. I don't get offended, I could give a shit less, it's your truck, if you fuck it up, you fuck it up

All I'm saying is this: Clearly you want to get it done. You and I know, we all know, as folks who actually work on our own vehicles, nothing sucks worse than getting halfway through some upgrade, only to realize you fucked up and miscalculated due to lack of info about corner case stuff. Before you think about starting this audio upgrade on your truck ... do yourself a favor:

Figure out if your truck has an amp or not. Info with pictures of amp locations (etc.) is in the thread I linked up above, but if your radio has a "JBL" logo silkscreened on its face, you have the JBL radio and we need to talk through your plans, because it's not like a normal car audio system.

Oh, and if it has the Fujitsu amp under the plastic cover of the passenger rear underseat storage cubby, I'd recommend getting the Metra amp bypass harness, it has everything you need, including all the extra wiring and it's stupid cheap.

If you have have no amp, I think the radio adapter harness is like $7 or something, it's the same one for Toyota models from the 1980s thru the 2000s, and you can do 90% of your stereo install before you set foot in the car, splicing that harness into your aftermarket radio harness.

And if you tell us what you got, what model# radio you're putting in it, whether or not you plan to (or want to) update the speakers, a few of us on here can hand out options.

Installing a backup cam? We can show you all the routing points, and some shortcuts specific to this truck that'll make it easy.

Need to adapt radio controls? Got you covered on that. Want to add right-hand radio controls for phone stuff? Got info on that too.

There's a shedload of knowledge on here, already put together.
