Noticed its a lot slower than my broken in engine. :( My truck never idled rough, so its tough to tell if this one is smoother. Trans is shifting like it would after having the battery removed for a while. All of this is with just 10 miles of driving it though. I've got to drive a few hundred miles later this week, will have better feedback by Friday. Oil change at 500 miles and away we go.

Wont slap on the jb4 for a few thousand

@eddiefromcali nice to hear! Also nice to hear they moved your catch cans and didn't try any funny business! That's a good service department.

Over done? Not even close. Payload, oil weight or OCI threads are way past this subject and they are just now getting fun. Ryan will be immortal for taking one...or two for the team.

While the info that Sudo provides is valuable to some, I’m specifically referring to the Ryan/not Ryan stuff. It’s just young.

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and Platinum are one of the better oils out there, only reasons n I switched was needed higher moly oil according to Lake Speed.

I wonder if given the specs of those motors is Lake Speed can suggest what oil should be best for our trucks...???

He would probably need a motor to test the bearings, etc. to make the most accurate/best recommendation on an oil for the V35A. Being that DRIVEN is an oil he spec'ed, one would think he'd recommend their DI20 or DI30. But then again, it is $17.97/quart.

It shouldn’t take rare earth synthetic space station grade oil with quantum bending particle polymer additives to keep an engine from eating itself.

It wouldn’t be my first choice, it’s Mobil but made to Toyota Specs, there is better and worse oil out there.

I think all these oil analysis are all over the map and you cannot generalize them and think that one brand of "an approved type" is significantly better than another. If you think having an oil with more Molybdenum in it is going to lower your copper content think again. Just go through the thread that was created to post oil analysis results and you will see cases where higher Molybdenum resulted in both lower and higher copper content and vice versa. Look at the one below I extracted from that thread. The Molybdenum content was going down after every oil change and so were the copper levels.

Well according to a certified Tribologist Lake Speed, to help with my high copper reading, I needed to use an oil with higher moly than Pennzoil, and it went from 59 to 12 ppm.

One test result does not make it fact. How much does a decrease of 47 ppm really going to make in the scheme of things? I'm not a believer but if you are satisfied with it, then that's what counts.
