I'm looking for some advice on mounting a front camera on my 2020 SR5. I have this grill, and I'm aiming for the center hole below the toyota emblem.

I found this mounting bracket that I think will work. Toyota Tundra Sport / SR5 Universal Mounting Bracket | Lights & Camera | Yota Leds

Has anyone tried this one, or have another recommendation for camera mounting on this grill? I'm working toward the FRAC installation, but want to make sure I can actually mount the camera first.

Here's the camera I'm considering: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H852D49 (have read the FRAC threads).

    TIA folks! :)

The one on my '19 SR5 is down in the open slot in the valance, (considerably lower than where you're talking about and I quite like the placement and the view it provides.

I can see my bumper edge in the picture, so getting within inches of an object or car is really easy, as long as I can see daylight I know I'm good.

I use mine mainly for parking, and it's nice to have off road. It's not for any kind of dash-cam duty.

Just something to think about... if you do put it up in the grill maybe do it temporary first with some slack so you can compare different spots/views.

It REALLY helps with parking, without front and rear cams I wouldn't have even tried this late night park job. :bananadance:

You folks are awesome, this is exactly what I as looking for. I read through the links BrandonL812 posted and like
SD Surfer's location too. Good advice to try some spots. I ordered my FRAC and am looking at cams. Will do some testing and find a good spot.

    Thanks again!

Do you know which camera this is? I really like how the viewing angle shows the edge of your valance at this location, and tight parking is my use case.

I gotta' say, the front cam is one of the best things I've done to my truck.

I have a decent sense of spatial awareness, and have always been pretty good at knowing where my corners, bumpers, wheels, etc. are, but something about the sightlines and hood on this pig... 2 years in and I really have no idea where the front end is.
I always think I'm way closer to objects in front of me than I really am.

Another nifty feature since I installed the new HU and using the Maestro interface to retain steering wheel controls, is that I was able to program on of my steering wheel buttons (left side, UP arrow) to bring up the front cam if I Press & Hold so I don't even have to take my hands off the wheel.
I chose that button 'cuz it kinda' points forward, so it's intuitive to "press forward" if I want to "look forward"

I don't know for certain (got it from the stereo shop that did my install for this and the HU) but I think it might be this one.

    I can probably find out.

Yeah, having the valance edge in the frame really helps as a reference point.

I have the same issue. I think I'm inches away, and when I look I've got almost two feet. That's what this should solve. I have used Maestro for a couple head-unit installs and am familiar with the programming process you describe. They make a neat unit. So far I'm staying stock on the Tundra though...my wireless carplay adapter is good enough and FRAC seems like a slick solution for the camera.

Oh good, it's not just me!

It was kind of embarrassing actually... I'd be parallel parking, creeping a couple inches at a time being all careful thinking I was close, than I get out and look and I'm a foot and a half away.
