Pucks is really young. He's probably in his 6th year of undergrad and works as a waiter. Definitely a chain like Chili's. Watches anime porn and has a strained relationship with his mom. He's not slinging car parts.

Joe Joe is probably in his late 30's. He's behind on child support payments and lives with his dad. Somewhere in the Midwest.

Had a piece of cardboard under a section of hard brake tubing where I was working and noticed a leak… Brake line rusted through. I’m having a hard time finding a part # for it, maybe I should just replace them all, could someone point me in the right direction?

Word of advice; If you do find a replacement, don’t pull the existing line out of the bracket or you may break it since it gets brittle with age (so I’ve been told by the guy who broke all the brackets holding my leaking fuel line). They’ll go in but they don’t come out easy. Best thing is to just cut it and slide it out.

 

I’m starting to understand how some of the Southerners here complain about the heat.

It’s been 90F+ all week and humid. Today a wall of humidity hit me when I tried to take a walk at lunch. Must’ve gotten 1/4 mile before I broke out in a sweat.

The worst is wearing glasses and getting out a my air conditioned truck only to have instant condensation on them blinding my vision as I walk into work from the parking lot.

The top line is the pressure side from the master, the bottom is the return line.

Yeah, I couldn’t deal with that. One month out of the year is fine for me.

What blows my mind is when I used to see guys down south out jogging in 95+ temps mid-day. Now that’s hard core but these guys literally had “leather” for skin.

not really isn't THAT bad. I'll be in the yak from sun up till like 3-4 sometimes. I'm 100% dehydrated even though I'm pounding water the entire time. But you know....whatever doesn't kill you.....

 

Steel. And flaring is an art. Just know what flare is required for each connection. I have all the tools. I've learned only to use them in an emergency because it's a FPITA to deal with, especially when you need to double-flare. If you've never double-flared lines, check a reference.

Is there a reason you’d go steel over copper/nickel? Yeah it truly is, I’m a gas fitter by trade and the one thing that’s gotten me is forgetting to add the flare nut before flaring the copper haha

 

As long as it's not straight Cu, I think you're OK (i.e. CuNi is fine). I'd personally go steel, you choose whether stainless or not based on your need. This is just my 2¢. I don't think stainless is worth the extra $$, but I don't live in the rust belt, so I'm biased. I also know stainless doesn't == "rustless".

I also haven't had to work with nickel. Only aluminum and steel. So maybe it's easier to flare? I dunno.
