Great...ha! guess that's what I get for going by Prospeed site! So I'm running a stock, SC, plug at 14psi.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Are there "better" coils available? This was a moderate update on my Audis to upgrade to R8 coils...though, mostly marketing...

heh, taco world tackled this topic last month too.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ricks-and-mods.518932/page-2532#post-29884838

"When I pulled my ruthenium's they looked amazing in terms of wear. I replaced them with the spec'd iridiums because NGK doesn't make rutheniums designed for this setup in proper heat range. While the ones myself and others have used seem to "work" I suspect they are harsher on the coil packs with no evidence to back that up, but I did call NGK and inquire about using them and they seemed a bit mortified that I was using those in the truck lol."

They've had a fair amount of RIPP coils cause issues over there. Not sure if there is a consensus on a good upgraded coil pack to run

"I did run the with the RIPP packs but mine didn't die due to poor contact issues or corrosion anywhere. They just died due to bad internals (as in the coils themselves). They are resting peacefully in a landfill now."

    Too many mods to come
All the aftermarket units never work as well as oem and create more issues. But an oem replacement like that could work? Never knew that was option I'd be curious if it works. We always used to just tighten the tune up and plug gaps. But again Hp tuners etc on our rigs is not as open as the other platforms.

They were from 2 different Lexus NX Turbos.

I figure, if they work and one or more have an issue I'll get new ones once proof of concept has been established.

They should work, I’ll dig further. If they work, are there gains other than durability? Durability is enough for me, but more energy for those pushing big boost surely is welcome.

OEM Lexus part number 90919-02269 retail $112 discount around $80 Japan sourced $46
Denso aftermarket 673-1206 retail $70 discount $49 when purchased 4+ quantity

I have not found either of the discussed NGK sparks plugs in a heat range colder than 7. Perhaps Denso has something?

Coils look like a go to me…

    Question:

Is there any reason not to install a recommended fuel pump before the supercharger install?

Will the factory injectors care that a high flow unit is feeding them?

My truck is presently on my hoist while being rebuilt. If I can knock out that chore ahead of time, it would help with the supercharger install.

I would like to drive the truck for a few months to make sure the bugs are worked out before tackling the super charger install.

In case others are unclear. I bought the truck at a salvage vehicle auction. I've been doing this with my daily drivers for years.

I have an '08 that I bought a dozen years ago and it still runs flawless.

It, too is a salvage titled vehicle.

It'll drive fine on stock injectors with a big fuel pump. No downsides.

Like @snivilous stated it will be fine running the larger pump.
My 07 tundra is a theft recovery that insurance already settled so I got a good deal back in 2010.

So I am doing an oil change before a lo g trip this weekend. I go to check my Radium catch can, nothing. Not even a hint of oil. WTF. My cheaper J&L would have oil in it already. I probably have 5k on the CC and not a drop.

So I go and recheck everything. I can suck but can blow back through the pcv valve, valve is good. Check my connections as per Radiums instructions, perfect. Hose to SC is fine, blows and socks. I can't believe this right now.

So I start to take the CC apart. I must say, it's a shit design the way it is. The top port, pcv valve, is connected to the side port. There is a SS mesh I there which is what turn the oil vapor to liquid oil. Well, if vapor is coming in from the top, gets converted as it goes through the SS mesh, it just get sucked once it turns to liquid at the bottom port that goes into the SC. I have attached a Pic and you can see how this makes no sense to me.
My J&L are not connected what So ever and the liquid oil drops with no chan e of getting in the port going to the SC.

Someone please explain this to me because I can't believe after 5k I have no20240703_172236.jpg oil.

Yep. Terrible design. I posted my findings here a while back in the General SC thread. I've removed the plate, plug, and ball and threw in a Scotchbrite SS scrubber and now the catch can finally catches.

That's what I am going to do. I called them and the tech was clueless. Here are the Pic I just took. First is how it comes. The oil have to get pass that ball, shit design. 2nd is everything off. How it should be and 3rd Pic is the JL can. The way it should have been designed. Vapors come in through the mess and converts to liquid. Suction port is no where near to suck it up. 20240703_173828.jpg 20240703_173847.jpg 20240703_173904.jpg 20240703_173828.jpg 20240703_173847.jpg 20240703_173904.jpg

Yea the radium is kind of a pile, but looks nice. The mounting bracket is even a POS. The $30 Amazon one I have on my buggy collects way more shit, looks just as good, and cost 10% as much. Definitely paying for the name.

Now your hurting my feelings. Lol.

I bought it because of all the hype on here. Compared to my J&L, it's built better and sturdier. But the design is garbage. We'll I took all the garbage out and we will see how it does.
