Pioneer dmh-wt8600nex. I've got the Maestro RR and all the adapters/dongles from Crutchfield. The whole HU works fine and backup cam is not an issue.

I've tried two aftermarket cameras, and can't get any signal on the HU. I'm using the "2nd cam input" yellow RCA from the HU directly. I can toggle between the views, but the front is black- no signal. I think I'm just wiring it wrong?

 

It is the wiring. If I remember correctly when I installed mine, it has something to do with the purple wire on the Pioneer side.

Just ordered a new passenger side wiper arm. Once delivered I will install it.

 

Hated airbags. I ran Firestone Ride Rites with Daystar cradles because I didn't want the bags ripping apart when articulating the suspension off-road.

I couldn't find a PSI that wasn't noticeably bouncy when unloaded.

Moved to HD RAS. All my problems solved and then some. I'm running the Pro suspension with a 2" lift up front, and I have what I would consider factory rake if not a little more than factory.

That's fine with me. I can not stand the "leveled" look. It screams "I'm only here for the stance and don't ever use my truck as a truck" to me. Just my subjective opinion.

 

Well, have not done it yet, but these two boxes were dropped at my front door this morning!

I’ll share pics of the install but I am looking forward to this ‘extension’.

 

Thank you for the input. Very helpful. If I can ask you two follow up questions:

(1) The first is the same one I asked Eborseti22, with your truck's current stance being what "[you] would consider factory rake if not a little more than factory," are you using the white disc or the black disc on the RAS?

(2) Second, can I assume the "Pro suspension 2" lift up front" that you used means a lot more suspension pieces than the Mammoth 2" spacer kit mentioned by Eborseti22, or is it basically the same?

Just for clarification....

When you say you have a 2" lift up front, are you saying you have a 2" lift on top of the stock Pro suspension up front or the stock Pro suspension gave you a 2 inches of lift??

 

I ran them as well. I used the AirLift and I did not have the cradles. My issue is that they rode awful when not needed. I replaced them with SumoSprings and this was an excellent solution for me. It limited my squat without hurting my empty ride.
My fear with RAS is that it stresses different areas of my leaf springs. It forces most of the work to be done with only the back half of the leaf because it limits the motion of the front. The result of this is increased stress and ultimately less life out of my leaves. If you want some extra height and suspension capacity do and add-a-leaf. I have used Alcan in the past and they make a great product.

I am not in love with the leveled look but I love the way the Pro suspension works and rides so I will take the good with the bad. If my truck squats while working..... Well it shows that I have a great suspension that when needed it will flex to keep me comfortable. If you remove the suspension, your truck will never squat

 

11 spots of epoxy to fix this busted bulge. Brilliant design Toyota. Contemplating drilling a bunch of holes in the black part to let air vent out so there isn’t so much pressure build up there.

Was able to snag a driver's side handle from a local salvage yard. Cleaned up well and was insanely easy to install. I followed the instructions riddled throughout the site, with one addition. I grabbed both factory bolts from the donor vehicle. Of course I don't have the receipt to confirm, but I was able to reuse them for the install. I believe it was a M6x1.00 thread and it was right next to the 1/4x20 (or whatever) the instructions recommended for the u-shaped nut. I'm sure this isn't news, but was for me in the hardware aisle finding a fit to factory bolts. The different size bolt heads would have driven me more insane than the mild imperfections in a plastic panel.

 

I have the OEM Pro setup, which is 2” taller up front than OEM non-Pro.

2. It just means that the coilovers (springs + shocks) are 2” taller. It makes the Pro trucks look more leveled, but also has longer suspension travel than OEM shocks.

RAS has the added benefit of acting like a rear anti-sway bar. Less “floaty” in turns. The system somehow improves ride empty and loaded, and it still allows articulation for off-roading. I’m extremely impressed.

Agreed on airbags and cradles: awful when empty.

Interesting take on the RAS. I haven’t heard of anyone saying the system wore out their leaf springs faster. My problem with the Sumos is the lack of articulation when off roading.

 

Installed seat jackers today. Definitely improves the seat angle. If anything I feel like I sit a little higher than I would like. I think it will help with long drives. Without them the seat feels so flat and deep. As someone else said in another post, it feels like you’re sitting on top of the stock seat, not “in” the seat.

 

The support in the thigh is a big bonus on long drives. Nothing worse than getting a few hours into the drive and realizing you've been putting all the weight on your heel.

I felt the same for a week or so. I actually got my Katzkins and Seat Jackers installed @ the same time (the shop that did the Katzkins did the Seat Jackers @ no additional fee). I feel like they *could* be maybe a bit shorter, like 1/2" or 3/4" or so, but to be honest, the improved angle and the comfort resulting from it is such that after a few days I thought "Meh, this is fine" and now I love it.

Wife loves driving the truck now - says it makes her feel like a 'big kid.' She gets the occasional nod or whistle from other truck owners.

 

Got the BMC knocked out and mounted my Fuel Coverts 17x9 -12 and 35s beneath a 2" Bilstein lift. Installed the Vivid Racing valvetronic exhaust system.

@roughfisher - I wonder if this air box mod makes the engine more susceptible to water ingestion and hydro lock when driving through deep puddles. It’s been reported on this site.

 

You are confusing the Stillen with the SABM. The stillen potentially has issues since it adds an opening in the "grille" that goes to the airbox, so if you hit a deep puddle its more likely to add water to your intake. Which is why Stillen sells a system with a shut off plate so you can close the front entry point as needed.

The SABM has the same risk as your stock intake, so your statement makes no sense since the normal intake has no issues with water ingestion.

 

I have the rough country bed mat for my tundra. Reasonably priced and good quality. I don’t necessarily like many RC products but this one is solid.

 

I had a bed mat in my Tacoma, loved it. Heard good things about the RC bed mat too, but I opted for the BedRug this time around and love it more than the bedmat...

Not the best photo of it, but I love it and would recommend it to anyone. Easy install as well.

 

Installed some Ebay door handles, not bad for the price. Some imperfections with the paint and the handles are certainly aftermarket units. The worst thing is they shipped them loose in a bag with bubble wrap.

 

That looks and works just fine...door handles are almost the most used item...imperfections mean you use your truck!! Nice find!
