Thanks for responding, I just received a message from Dongar saying their wire doesn't come with hot wire (for constant power) it works with vehicle on only

I swear there was a thread on here somewhere, where someone swapped a pin on the dongar at got constant power from the dome light. But of course I can not find it now.

I am not sure how others found constant power using Dongar connector, here is what they told me:

Hi, Unfortunately, our adapters only support ignition On and will not supply power while in parking mode.

    Hi ,
    Thanks for sending that information.
There are two products that will work with your 2022+ Tundra.
    1) Mirror adapter: https://dongar.tech/products/10pin-type-b-lexus-toyota. This connector port is located under the shroud at the base of your mirror. You can see a similar installation in this Toyota Sienna installation video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FmcnFMC0ok. This product is ignition-switched only and powers on only when the vehicle is started.
    2) Roof "option connector"...lead time is 3-5 days to ship. This uses the 5-pin connector above the domelight console which is also what the Toyota OEM dash cam option uses: https://dongar.tech/products/optionconnectortoyota. This product is ignition-switched only and powers on only when the vehicle is started. Here is how to access this connector:

I can confirm that the Dongar rear view mirror USB output does not have constant power and only comes on when the vehicle comes on.

    FWIW:
Furthermore, I would hesitate to purchase one....Shortly after installing mine I had an SRS Air bag malfunction warning come on in my stereo and dash. I ignored it for a bit but it came back repeatedly daily. So, I took it into Toyota to diagnose it since I am still under warranty. They couldn't figure it out and told me something was causing a drain to the battery and signaling the computer a malfunction. They told they couldn't determine the exact cause but they reset it and to keep an eye on it. Sure enough next morning the damn warning was back.

After that visit I knew it had to be the dongar dash cam mirror connector, as it was the only thing I had changed since I got the SRS malfunction. So I disconnected the dongar adapter and it's been 3 months now and the SRS malfunction is gone and hasn't come back since removal of the dongar adapter.

Maybe I got a bad one, maybe it's just that they are cheaply made (literally a tiny computer board with USB output shrinkwrapped to it and soldered wires which have no flex) either way it was enough for me to get rid of my adapter. And no issues since.

    Problem solved,
I just figured things out, first of all I had a faulty multimeter. After grabbing a new one I was able to locate the proper locations as follows: Battery/constant power is the additional empty fuse (Fuel OPN-SUV 10A), accessory goes to (fuse USB No.2), here are some pictures thanks everyone.

Can confirm the dongar harness comes in two flavors, in the comments field you should be able to specify switched or constant (I ordered constant). Then you can tap the harness for the alternate method you need to support parking mode.

I owe another member a picture, but got tied up, so I'll try and get it done tomorrow.

I use a Vantrue E2 front and rear camera with my dongar harness and have been for about a year with no issues. My only gripe is that if I engage the auto shutoff at a red light, when the truck restarts so does the camera.

I am currently using the same Dongar harness mentioned above.

As for the Vantrue camera, I can’t complain. I’m yet to actually need it for anything other than stupid things I see.

Jumping onto this thread to try and figure out fuse tap locations for a 2015 Tundra 1794 edition, I tried BK/UP LP for constant and S/Roof for ACC but scared the shit out of myself draining the battery, clearly that's not the way to go! I tried testing a bunch of fuses with ACC on but couldn't get anything to light up.

Is anyone using fuse taps on a 2015 Tundra with the following fuse maps?

Wrong forum to ask this friend! This is for 3rd gen tundras.

You might be able to tap the Seat Heater fuse, since that circuit is only enabled when the car electronics are powered on.

Shoot, you're totally right I didn't realize this thread sat in a Gen 3 section! I figured the Sunroof would be on that same setup but I did try testing that Seat Heater fuse with ACC on and didn't get any action on my cheapo mutlimeter. Electronics are not usually in my bailiwick.

Wait, so the camera turns off every time the auto start function of the truck is used?

Yes, it restarts as if I turned the truck off and back on. I asked somewhere on here a while back if it happens to others who use that adapter and they said no. My first adapter was made by a forum member and it didn’t behave this way but I broke it and bought the dongar.

Do you know which version of the cord you got? I've been reading there is one they provide with only ACC power, and the other is constant.

It’s the acc power, not constant.

    None... yet.

I ordered one of these a few days ago, got it yesterday and installed today. Aside from getting the console off (took a good pull down), it was a quick and easy install and works like a charm... and this is on a 2024 Tundra SR5. Pics are of rear facing camera and main camera - with all cables carefully tucked into headliner.

There’s a guy here who sells an adaptor that goes into the oem camera plug. Not sure his user name, but I found him on fb. Saw his plug in the market place.

The camera I have is the Rexing V1P 4K - it has a rear camera option... and that is the camera shown. The rear camera doesnt have any markings on it to say who makes it... but I am pretty sure the rear camera can be ordered by itself from Rexing. Unsure if the 3.5 earphone style jack (that plugs in to main camera) will work on other cameras, so keep that in mind.

And re-reading this today, I see I failed at reading the words. oops.

For the rear camera "bracket", I used a piece of double-sided tape and stuck it to the window trim - read window still goes up/down without affecting the camera.

My apologies if it's been asked in this thread already, but I searched and couldn't find alit. Does anyone know if there's a way to make the Tundra's on-board cameras constantly record to an SD card once the truck has been started? Seems a waste we need to purchase a dashcam when there's already 5 cameras onboard the truck.
