Learned a lot about BFUSA today. Cool company. Apparently as a vendor I can order tires for my personal vehicle at a huge discount.

Yep. Staying right off Broadway. This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed at. It's a party all night below me. Very difficult to not indulge but I'm holding strong.

But this beer made me talk with a lisp.

Damn you Microsoft!!! How dare you upgrade to Windows 11 without telling me!

Somebody needs to take them down a notch or two. "Update and Shutdown" doesn't mean "Upgrade and Shutdown"!

Now I need back up my important files before reverting in the supposed 10 day window. Waste of a weekend.

I bet that's where they are testing autonomous trucks(semis). We learned about that today. Cool shit. They partnered with Kodiak and test drive in Texas. Kodiak had the first steer tire blowout save using an autonomous truck. The system was able to handle the blowout and safety stop the semi. I nerded out today. Bridgestone makes a ton of products I wasn't aware of including golf balls. Their largest tire is like 14k lbs and costs $100k. Crazy.

Bridgestone golf balls are the jazz for golfers with medium swing speeds. Way better than Pro Vs.

My first truck was an 05 Tundra and still kick myself in the arse for getting rid of it back in 2014….

well I’ve found an 02 that I’m looking to buy. They said they’ve replaced the cats but the 02 sensor is throwing codes. How much would it be to get them replaced?

First step is to figure out what the codes are.
Then figure out if it's the front or rear sensor(s) needing to be replaced, or if you can hack the system with spacers.

Read up. Save some money and replace em your self. The sensors are like $70 a piece and there are four. Get Denso brand only.

If they were throwing P0430 / P0420 codes, the problem is quite likely the upstream O2 sensor is sending bad values to the ECU making it think the cats are inefficient, the correct response (IMHO) is to replace the upstream and downstream sensors on the affected side, specifically using the correct Denso brand part, purchased from a reputable source (i.e. not scAmazon, fleaBay or other). But these trucks are also notorious for throwing codes on aftermarket cats too, with exception of three specific brands. And some guys on here have just constantly battled with those two codes, ultimately needing to use foulers on the bungs.

Do yourself a favor before you dive in, and digest the first two replies in this thread, it's a compilation of info from all of us here in the 1st gen section: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

A buddy of mine has an 01 tacoma 2wd 5spd. He said the rear end is going out. So iirc, the 3rd member is swappable between our trucks, but the entire axle is not? He called the all jap yard and they said $950 for the 3rd member. Seems a bit high to me.

I'm poking around on car-part, and I'm finding entire axles for $3-400. I need more info from him. Seems like there's a multitude of ratios. Even more than our trucks.

I think my confusion is coming from the fact every time I look up LSDs and lockers, it groups all of together. Tacos, tundras, sequoias, 4rs.

    Happy Friday people!

On my drive home from Nashville today I passed a Best Gen on the shoulder of I-40 with a LBJ failure. They were lucky it didn't lead to bad wreck at that speed.

Gah, the clunking has gotten a bit louder coming from my driver's side suspension. I think I'm going to proactively change out my LBJ this Saturday, or possibly the next. I'm still not convinced the Toytec Aluma 2.0 aren't the issue, but I've never heard a CO (granted, I was always lowering with CO before, not lifting) make clunky sounds like this. Sounds almost like a spring loose or shifting in a pocket. I noticed yesterday I'm hearing the noise more while turning at low speed, which could be CV or LBJ.
