I agree for that price I would have also expected higher quality. Disappointing for sure but good on them for stepping up. I paid just under $200 for the front set only. I was very careful to only put a very small amount of pressure on each of the cover attachment points. I hope not to stress the seems or hooks too bad. I’m sure the driver side will also get the most use as I’m usually by myself so time will tell. Thank you for your honest feedback on your experience.

screwed myself with the front door framing, speakers I bought wont fit, the come with a big ass magnet and makes contact with that forward brace... Unless I cut them, but am not sure it's window track framing, or just door framing.

I had also noticed this, at first thinking that I had something wildly misaligned. I figured out that it was from reflections off of the grill guard. As is my sci-fi nerdy nature, I stated to my wife "it kind of has a Romulan or WarHammer look to it." She replied "it kind of looks like the WonderWoman logo. Ish." And with that, any and all efforts on my part to apply some nerdy guy coolness disappeared like a loose balloon farting its way out of picture.

The DRL's are insanely bright. (Not a complaint).

I'd like to be able to find a Yota logo like that but that would fit in the emblem area on the Rock Warrior grill. Anyone?

I wish we could do this to our RW grills. After much research I ended up getting the TRD pro grill conversion insert. I'll post pics tomorrow when I plan on installing it.

my favorite truck mod paint; Plastidip. It looks really shiny when wet but dries matte. It's wet in the pic.

Man was super excited for a small mod that I wanted to install today but package thieves at my apartment complex ruined it smh. Had ordered a Nilight USBC/USB port that would replace one of the ‘cigarette ports’ in the front. I figured the crewmax has 4 of them so why not change one out lol I was looking at one of the ports that fits in the blank square spot but I’ve had good experiences with the Nilight products from lights to wiring harnesses. So I look forward to the replacement item to come in, luckily Amazon was understanding and sent a new one free of charge. Once installed I’ll put a review here on the thread and let yall know how it looks/charges!

Got my FN FX Pro wheels in today. Going on Tuesday. FN did a remarkable job packaging and shipping these- arrived in just a few days with the best FedEx tracking ever.

Also ordered a complete set of Marathon seat covers, but those won't be in until February. IMG_0317.HEIC.jpgIMG_0318.jpg

Well I spent almost 4 hours installing the TRD pro grill insert today. Temps got into the mid 30's so it wasn't too bad taking the grill off then moving inside to complete the insert changeover. I likely fiddled with it longer than I should have but I was mindful of not wanting to break any tabs. Tedious is an understatement. With lots of patience I was able to complete the install without breaking any tabs off the grill surround while taking out the OG Rock Warrior Grill insert. I did notice that I was missing a few of the yellow female connectors that the top of the hood bulge pins go into, but that must've been from the previous owner.

The hardship for me today was losing my favorite gearwrench 10mm socket into the engine bay while reinstalling the grill. Im super ocd about tools and placement of them and that 10mm has been with me since I was in my 20's wrenching on dirt bikes, (I'm 51 now). As my wife says, I'll probably talk about that socket for the next few weeks bemoaning my atrocity. Beyond the socket mishap the grill looks amazing and the quality of the plastic is oem comparable. The grill came from https://goodmatchup.com/products/2010-2013-toyota-tundra-front-bumper-grill-insert-black-mesh.

I also installed the 3d sensor cover that I got from @Rube207. I pried the sensor cover off with a pry tool and applied 3m adhesive then stuck his cover in place. It fit like a glove.

I laughed about those sockets once I dropped mine into the engine bay. Remembering how I told @dittothat that his kindness was unsurpassable and that I had plenty. Appreciate the offer, super kind of you. but I do have more in my toolbox. Just an ocd moment that I'll soon get over.

after I throughly look through the bay tomorrow once jacked up and on stands of course.

I know exactly how you feel. I had some landing gear fall off an RC plane the other day and went back today…just to be sure I couldn’t find it. Good luck in your search!

I'd send you a 10mm found in a Toyota frame but it's all rusty, being there a long time. They can cause grief rattling around. When the weather improves, I'd wager you find it.

It's been over two weeks and I've not completed the TPMS project. But, I did buy an Autel MaxiTPMS 508WF, so I'll never again need help with this system.

Today I finished my 'other' project and invented something useful to all Tundra owners. A good start to 2024:

Pictured is my installation of Kenwood DNX697S* with ADS Maestro RR2, 2-USB Inputs, AUX-IN (w/ VID-In), AUX-OUT (w/ VID-Out), factory Audio AUX-IN also retained and my invention: CAR-MIC-SVR.
(I especially want to try the gauge in the top-left corner of the screen!)

    Kenwood DNX697S-MaestroRR2.jpg

Stay tuned: https://www.tundras.com/threads/use-oem-mic-with-aftermarket-headunit.93038/. I'm working with another Tundras.com member (charliebison) to verify it will also install seamlessly in a 2019 Tundra SR5 with Maestro RR and a Sony head deck. Then the sky's the limit: other Toyotas? Honda? Pioneer? Alpine? Etc... On testing so far, I'm told the factory microphone sounds better than aftermarket mics. It should because it's powered. Plusses include: It's the factory MIC; It's hidden behind the roof console where it belongs; You never have to go near it during plug/play installation at the stereo harness while you're there installing the aftermarket head-deck anyway.

*Footnote: DNX997XR would have been better but I don't like the fold out face... high-risk mechanism. Also, Android Auto phone mirroring is a real problem - a retro solution needs to be found!

So I looked all throughout the engine bay, in the skid plate, everywhere I could. Had it up on the Jack and crawled under it with my flashlight hoping to catch a glimpse of the light reflecting off of the shiny little socket. Gave up after 45 minutes or so and wrote it off. Then later this afternoon I was driving down a 2 lane hwy and heard a rattle and then something bounce off of the sheet metal somewhere along my passenger side. Assume it wiggled loose, or I spit a rock from a tire. Either way I'm calling it a loss and I'll order another one. Have a few more 10mm's for other socket sets but the one I lost is a pass through gearwrench vortex socket. So not just any 10mm will replace this one.

I can't say enough good things about the kindness of strangers on a forum. No other site operates with such integrity between forum members and I'm happy to be welcomed here. Hope everyone has a happy new year!

Is the HomeLink programming in the mirror itself? Will a newer mirror (Gen 3) plug/play on an older Tundra (Gen 2)?
I understand they're on HomeLink version 4.?? now. My garage door opener is newer than my Gen 2 Tundra.
