That UBJ is puking a little grease. Not the end of the world. Driveline looks like it needs to be lubed. “Wet” engine is likely valve covers weeping. May just need to be torqued (aluminum heads). May need new gaskets after 17 years.

How many miles on it? The brake fluid looks dark and could likely benefit from being bled. The lower shock bushing looks a little rough and likely original.

Overall it looks great. I don't see any rust.

    Frame is very clean.

Front lower shock bushings are pretty exhausted. So are the swaybar bushings. Driver side lower balljoint looks recently replaced, it's newer/cleaner than everything else, cant' tell for passenger.

Something coolant-like (maybe non-oil, maybe power steering fluid from the power steering reservoir) was leaking from above, you can see it on the framerail and on the swawbar, passenger side, 5th pic.

Hopefully you confirmed, while driving in a straight line and not doing something dumb like trying to make turns on asphalt, you've tested to make sure 4HI engages/LED goes solid/then disengages with another press.

Slip yoke looks dry to me; focus on lubing all 10 (or whatever) zerks on the driveline with the proper grease and a grease gun.

Power steering fluid and brake fluid are dark. Brake fluid is overfilled, it seems, by a large margin. Power steering fluid reservoir (the bubble container next to the air filter housing) is potentially not mounted properly, maybe that's where that leak I mentioned came from. The fluid isn't level with the lines on the tank, but like waaaaay more than should be the case unless you're in San Francisco parked on a massive grade hill.

Like KNABORES said above ... valve cover gaskets are leaking. Typical. Here's where you'll usually see residual oil if it's the case. https://www.tundras.com/threads/speculating-on-the-source-of-oil-leak.113357/#post-2921243

You may just see if the valve cover bolts are less-than-finger-tight. They DO NOT require a lot of torque, so DO NOT overtighten unless you like drilling things out. Instructions and part numbers for your valve cover gaskets are here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/valve-covers-fix-or-leave.105385/#post-2712883

I dunno what the hell that janky ass garbage is the previous owner did with the battery cables, but that's some janky ass shizzle.

Still, truck looks awesome. Nice and clean. We like nice clean trucks.

I think the brake fluid level has been going up. I check under the hood frequently and it seems to get higher as time goes on. And the leak you mentioned on the sway bar is on the opposite side of the tilted power steering fluid reservoir. I’ll investigate further. (the truck is parked on level ground in these pictures)

I just recently tested the 4wd, I read on here to use it once a month to keep things lubed. I also used 4hi and did turn on it and it felt like I shouldn’t so I stopped.

Visited that link you sent about valve cover gasket leaking. Yup it’s all wet down there.

My friend installed my new battery for me at 7pm or so and forgot a part and ran to autozone to get something and that’s all they had!

Thanks my Dad got this truck for me so I want to keep it in pristine condition to honor him.

No need to worry about it prematurely, but i think thats one of those wonky master cylinders. & i dont remember the specifics, but i dont think its a fun part to find.

You're right, I was reading the pics backwards. Only liquid-bearing thing I an think of on that side is the master cylinder, but if that was brake fluid, I'd expect the frame to be corroding in all the spots it ran across. Interesting.

Anyway, nice bones and arteries on that thing.

You may have already noticed but the little vacuum line that goes from the fuel pressure regulator to backside of airbox is not in place.

How do I go about greasing the driveline? Should I just be greasing the drive line or are there other parts as well?
    Thanks,

Ok, this is more difficult then.

Do you ever intend to buy decent quality a grease gun, and learn how to use it?

I see the evap canister is missing, so my question is what did Toyota replace it with for the 06 truck design? Is it just the crappy AIP pump now?

I dont blame you, but how old are you? And what city?

luckily, you've got a tundra, so you shouldnt have to fire a 'parts cannon' at it. But its damn near 20 years old & built after mfg's still gave a fuck. So its gonna need care and maintenance. If you werent a car/machinery guy before, you are now.

you're in good hands. People with trucks this old are the DIY type. And its the kind of information (problem solving, diagnosis, repair) that everyone should know. No offense if you're not a noob, i understand new stuff doesnt have zerk fittings, just not my expierience.

    That's the intention, @shifty`.

I've worked on cars before but have very little experience. I'd say I'm a novice. I have a friend who knows a lot, he helps me here and there, but he's a busy guy so I joined these forums so I'm not on my own and get some help. I do have the desire to be a diy'er but its hard as I've mentioned in another thread, I just don't have the space for a lot of repairs. With the place I'm living at, if I were to fix my truck and have parts everywhere or have it hoisted, it'd cause friction/some very unfortunate conversations, I want to avoid that like the plague. One day, God willing, I'll have my own place then ill be able to do more involved repairs. But for the foreseeable future I'm stuck with basic repairs, oil chances, spark plugs, etc. But my friend that I mentioned lives in a much more relaxed environment and if need be, I can take my truck there and we can work on more complex repairs.

    Thanks,
    Austin

Effin cali. People who wont let you fix your own stuff should be tarred & feathered.

get a cheap motorcycle or scooter (or bicycle) for some downtime. Because theres a pretty long curve to getting everything right the first time.

im 36 & have been 'car people' since i was younger than 10. And for every hour of doing, i've got days of research. (I've been researching suspension for years & havent commited to anything yet.)

Well, I think I mentioned before, but a lot of what you need to know is either directly here, or linked from here. (Including link to the service manual for your truck, which you should download a copy of)

If you search that page for "zerk", it'll point you to this thread which has an info-graphic from the service manual showing where all the zerks are: https://www.tundras.com/threads/black-hole-zerk-wtf.93630/

You'll want to get an NLGI-2 grease tube for your gun. I like the Valvoline 985 grease product for moly/NLGI2 purposes, but I recently had to switch to Valvoline Palladium #2 because it's got a tad more moly additive, and is compatible with my new SPC upper control arms.

As you'll see in that thread, there's a special process to fill the zerk labelled "B" on that info-graphic. @FirstGenVol gives more info in his reply, #4 below the info-graphic.

Some people have found some zerks difficult to get to with a standard tip. Sometimes grinding the tip of your grease gun a smidge will get you what you need. Our departed friend PHM shows his preference here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/greasing-the-drive-shaft-for-4wd.79455/#post-2011104
