Of course they’re horrible. They make everyone bow down to the mighty bohemoth that is Wally World. People like to pay less, companies like to sell more. Viscous cycle.

Half ton press is fine. Gotta push a bit. I’m sure a larger vice would work as well. Or a home made bolt puller. Last spacers didn’t really want to go in so I used the bottom shock bolt to keep them aligned and ease them in.

I can’t picture 1/4” thick aluminum plate bending that easily.

With the weight of the vehicle plus being in motion plus an immovable object you'd be surprised.

True. I didn't realize it was not for the belly of the beast. But last year at Jambo a driver ruined her aluminum front bumper on a trail. Food for thought.

I watched several as I could get a different camera angle each different one. It's not hard to do but ya need to pay attention to detail. I find all the timing marks before taking things loose. Then I ensure that I have the engine on TDC of the compression stroke. You can rotate the engine in the correct direction after you begin to take covers off to see how the marks align on the cams and such with the belt. Just continue until you get to TDC compression before taking off parts that effect belt tension.
    This is doable...
