Installed a Garmin Mini 2 dash cam with obdII power adapter, I like how small it is, not noticeable at all.20230107_164520.jpg 20230107_164539.jpg

    One step at a time
I honestly thought I wouldn’t do anything but a roll up tonneau cover like my first truck.

Painted tow hooks. Cheap mod but now the tow hooks are visible. I never knew I had those there for the 1st year of ownership

One good thing is that the mirror caps are separated from the rest of the truck - if the match isn’t perfect it is less noticeable.

That’s how I ran mine anyway, but with a break out/vampire harness to avoid tapping any wires

Do you have a link to that power adapter? Mine has the dongar mirror adapter so can't use parking mode.

I drove my truck while pulling my trailer for about 1.5 hours today and the alarm never came up and cruise control worked fine. When I got home I unhooked trailer and was heading back out and the alarm popped back up after hitting the bumps in my driveway. I turned truck off to restart it to see if alarm would clear. My truck wouldn’t even crank and dash lit up with codes. Truck would just turn over but wouldn’t crank. I dragged it back to house and headed to town for lunch in a spare vehicle. When I got back home my truck cranked. Can’t remember if the pre collision alarm was back or not. I looked in fuse panel and I saw that one of the add a fuse holder I had going to ignition fuse had popped out. It was just laying on contacts. I moved my add a fuse to a different slot to see if that fixes problem. So far so good. I did pull fuse while truck was running and it threw up all the same alarm as it did when truck would not crank. Hopefully I just had a loose fuse. Makes sense since I got alarm after breaking really hard and also when I hit some bumps in driveway. I figured I’d pass on the info to you incase that could possibly be the problem we are having. It could be that I had two problems at the same time but it’s worth checking out. I had a add a fuse on the 10amp fuse in picture with arrow. You may want to check yours just incase yours is loose also.

Ironmax4x4 Raid bumper with 10w amber work lights and 32" light bar. Rago dash setup with Bulletproof phone mounts. VLEDs interior kit with front and rear footwell lighting. X2Power AMG 27F.
Made some more progress on the (.......parts i've had on hand for way too long and....) dash dechrome/desilver!

Pulling the dash apart is quite jarring when you take a step back and as yourself "What have I done...." but its really not that bad. Just falls under the category of things that feel like they shouldn't be done.

Disassembled. pulled the horizontal and center silver ugly stereo surround. Prep'd them both with plastic primer after an alcohol wipe down then sprayed them all with 5 coats of SE Trim MGM spray paint. At first I thought things went really well, but in the sunlight there was a LOT of blushing which changed based on angle. Ended up doing an additional 2 really heavy coats and it seemed to work great on the main center piece, which was a relief. The horizontal pieces (the 16th variation of silver Toyota seemed to want to use) however, I could not get the blush to go away. At the right angles they look like they're old sun faded plastic bits, so I may do something else later. For now, I don't care. It looks a billion times better, even if imperfect.

I was SUPER careful putting things back together, but had an issue and knicked the main piece in 2 very small spots. not a huge deal, but the side I actually scratched it good when I was putting another piece on. had no idea I was even making contact. C'est las vis!

Did the Red TRD button, AJT 4x4 knob, AC vents, and start button chrome deletes which wrapped up all my AJT items.

Interior, all that remains is rear door killlmat and speaker swap, VLED interior kit and footwell lights. If I find a product I like, I'll get rid of the stupid silver on the doors. I'll probably buy the AJT pieces for the steering wheel, even though I would really prefer them to be MGM. I don't think the spray paint option is going to hold up well to the steering wheel usage. Oh, and a black TRD shifter knob with red thread. Just can't bring myself to pay $100+ for the Toyota one, so that'll have to wait for a 2nd hand deal to pop up.

    For now.....

Got the leather wrap done. It’s not perfect, there’s a couple of weird spots and the backside behind the wheel and on top of the airbag didn’t have quite enough material (im sure my lack of experience had something to do with that), but i am very happy with it. It’s perfect for me and feels so much better than the Amazon cover I had in it. Went ahead and painted the trim pieces while I was at it.

Loving the way the interior is shaping up. Gonna start thinking about some Katskinz. 128A62BC-1AE3-4337-8EE5-7B6AC6B47D61.jpg A47880DC-019D-440E-9BC4-552EEBE2EB35.jpg

Great job but you forgot to spray clear matte on the shiny gear select plastic. Makes a world of difference.

I did a few coats of clear coat on mine and a little wet sanding and it has held up well. Except for this scratch at the bottom of the steering wheel. Not sure what happened there.
