What's chipping? Did you use a clear coat?

I used SEM trim paint. It’s chipping on the top part of the cup holder. Probably just abuse from taking the water bottle in and out.

That sucks. Did you scuff the chrome at all before spraying it? I also added some clear after my SEM trim paint and its been holding up pretty good.

    Thanks!

Also, bronze. I spent weeks and weeks going over options before landing on those.

I've been looking at that insert bumper. How was the install? I like it's integration with the stock bumper. Clean, but still gives bull bar, lights, winch, all if you want.

I honestly don’t remember. If I did I obviously did a shitty job haha. I might give it another try. Gotta pull it out again to do the rear window switch relocation mod, so light as well spray it again.

I vote try painting it again before you spend money. If it works well, you can use that money for other mods!

Interesting. Mine is a 21 limited Crewmax. I sent RCI some pictures because I thought for sure I was missing a mounting point. I could only get 3 of the bigger bolts in on the drivers side. RCI said it looked good and that different years vary on the amount of hardware you can use without drilling.

Installed the Air Up Down system this evening …will test functionality tomorrow, but fully expecting it to run well after seeing one used in my buddy’s truck. Install wasn’t too bad, just a pain routing all the hose across the back wall and out to each of the wheel wells.

I added Threadserts for the mounting bracket to give a more secure/sturdy platform as was concerned using just self-tapping screws might not be strong enough for the weight when off-roading.

Last photo shows one of the connection valves at the driver’s side rear (chrome capped valve mounted on the frame)

Started my Tundra up about 3 or 4 times today and all of those times it seemed like the battery was having a tougher than usual time. I seem to remember a thread here or somewhere in this forum that stated our OEM batteries suck.

I took delivery of my 2019 Tundra almost exactly 2 years ago. It seems like it's WAY TOO EARLY for the battery to be going bad.

Anyone have any experience with this? Is it time for a new battery or do I need to do some simple maintenance on it?

FYI, I don't have anything drawing off the battery that's not already stock.

Stop off anywhere that does battery checks (dealership, Autozone, O'Reilly). My stock battery lasted about 30 months. At 24 months it is a little earlier than most but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the battery.

I love the Sprayway. I've heard Dawn isn't really good for the top coat, though... I got some of the pink stuff, but it's pricey for soap and I'm a bit of a cheapskate on stuff like that. Sorry to hear about the nonsense - - been there, and it does take too much of your brain away for much too long. Have a better day.

That mounting point lined up with the welded nut on the back drivers side for me. I couldn’t get either of the provided bolts to work. RCI recommended drilling some extra holes, but I don’t want to do that at the moment. They did say that I shouldn’t have any issues once I can get that smaller bolt on the back. Weird Toyota changed the frame up so much, but I feel like RCI did a good job making the sliders as universal as possible.

Should I get it replaced under warranty or just spring for a new battery myself?

I did find a threat on the battery, here - https://www.tundras.com/threads/did-it-again.95754/page-3.

The OP on that thread is trying to get it replaced under warranty whereas others are saying just bite the bullet and buy a new on yourself.

Toyota actually replaced my battery on the first service visit - it had gone bad already, but not bad enough for me to notice.

Such BS. I just replaced the battery on my 2015 4Runner, lasted 7 years and 100k+. Definitely won’t find that anymore. Costco’s deal/warranty on interstate batteries is hard to beat if anyone is looking for a new one.

I know what you mean. I just got the tundra and I love the sound of a V8, but then I’m like “nah, I’m not trying to listen to that on the highway while towing.”
