    Thanks!

I plan on 17’s and wanted to do disc conversion. Way behind on planning for that. Good to know it’s possible. Sounds like I’m going with 14WA up front.

best part of an old truck is zero guilt replacing anything.

The 13s are the factory TSB upgrade for your truck. The 14s are off a new 4runner and a bit bigger

If you go WA don’t forget the caliper needs to have it’s ears machined.

I hear you on that! :)

I did the rear disc conversion myself and there was some trial-and-error but it's definitely doable. I documented some of it way back in this thread. The guy at SOSperformance might be the one to talk to for master cylinder recommendations if you want discs AND 14WA fronts.

Rear disc conversion is an excellent time to do your wheel bearings and axle seals if they're original, but not necessary. To do a rear disc conversion you either have to cut the drum brake backing plate in pieces or have it removed via press.

With a 2004 dc did you already have the 4 way abs? or just running one sensor?

I would be replacing the 2 year old wheel bearing just because I don’t want to cut up the backing plate I paid a lot of money for 2 years ago.

can you use sequoia axles by just changing bearings? Im pretty sure im gonna have to build backing plates unless i figure out how to steal the linkage.

To use stock sequoia stuff you need the whole axle housing. The sequoia bearing mount has a different bolt pattern

Take a whole Sequoia axle assembly, grind off the suspension mounts and weld in new ones to work on the Tundra.

i know mine doesnt count cause its not a tundra, but a 4 day weekend with my brother and dog in a 2 dr s10 blazer. Packed so tight, i lifted the dog in and out the drivers door. And we put the kitchen in the ‘churchcamp trailer’. But ive always been proud in my ability to fill a good hole.

This will never pass PHM muster. Whatever this schmutz is on top of the wheel cylinder. Disassemble and start over! Otherwise, great job sir.

Damn you guys can pick up the smallest details....
That's just brake assembly grease I put around the back of the brake cylinder before putting it in the backing plate.

I use that stuff about once a year. Run the ac full blast on recirc, a quick couple of psh-psh into the passenger footwear and watch the vapor get sucked up. Leave windows up and system running for a few minutes with yourself not in the truck. Then I switch to full blast ac and fresh air mode, a quick psh-psh into the cowl above the passenger side and I roll windows down to let that run. Again I stay outside. Then turn off the truck and let it air out with windows down for a while.

The smell doesn't stick around long but it kills any funk.

If you remember binaca fresh breath spray, it's kind of like that but for your car. A little aerosol can that you shake and give a light spray into your cars hvac intake to kill any misty smells.

On to the front. Just got back from the Zone with some new calipers. One piston was seized on the right side. I could barely spin my wheel when I got it off the ground. I'm surprised it wasn't more noticeable. You can see the hot spots in the old rotor too.

Replaced the 15 year old Pioneer cheapy's with some slightly less cheap Fosgate separates. Replaced the factory door speaker and Tweeter. Decided to remove the factory grill and use the tweeter mount so that I could angle the tweeter to help improve soundstage, something that is seriously lacking in these trucks. Results, not bad. Powered by the head unit, so not gonna be cranking it up to 30 and expecting crystal clear sound, but a big improvement over the previous setup. Also cleaned and lubed the window regulators while I was in there to improve performance and prevent failure of the regulators.
