I haven't had anyone install on a harrop yet. The intercooler on the harrop is flush with the support bars so only the Setrab cooler would fit.

My dealer worked on mine and only charged me for the extra work. It was like $43 dollars. They just make a note that I have an aftermarket part. Like a lift

That's what I was hoping for as I have two friends that own dealerships but tow the company line. Not interested in voiding a warranty for something I really don't need at the moment. If things change I will deal with it then. In the meantime I have the lifetime power train warranty!

2018 has the factory cooler already. You don’t need this.

Even though I said to myself and others I would not be installing a cooler, I ordered my kit from genuinecoolinesystems.com @chasenicholas93 this morning! I'll be happy to pay less attention to my temps, and probably eventually stop monitoring temps all together, while I'm driving and towing.

I agree with you and my kit arrives tomorrow. When I saw my other two other vehicles running 150-170 degrees and my brand new Tundra running over 200 I knew I had to do something. Absolutely no way can long term exposure to 225-250 degree transmission temperatures not take a toll. I’m also in agreement that I too will one day soon put the scan monitor on a shelf and forget about monitoring temps as I’ve done all I can. The icing on the cake was having the opportunity to work with such a class act like Nick who’s mastered the art of customer service like few have done.

Installed my Setrab kit this weekend. Unloaded temps went from 220-230 to 180-190. Install wasnt as bad as I expected. That level check procedure is ridiculous. Reminds me of the game Mousetrap.

I didn’t see any reply from @fbingha so...
If you get the $10 Toyota adder in OBD Fusion, you get access to a bunch more points. Gear was listed as “Shift Status” for my ‘20 SR5. I think Altitude was in the GPS section.
I received Nick’s Setrab kit recently and am hoping to install it soon. The hoses seem pretty snug when I tried to slip them on the hard lines. Did you pre-install the hoses to the hard lines before fishing them through underneath? I’m thinking maybe a little heat will help them to slide on easier or maybe a bit of ATF as lubricant (?). Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

In the instructions I believe it notes using a small amount of atf fluid can help get them on the hard lines. Also, one member noted it was easier to pre attach the hose to the hard lines and then fish them through as well as install the in/out hoses on the t-stat before getting under the truck.

I have only gotten as far as assembling the cooler on my brackets and need to get a dedicated day to finish everything else but I plan to preassemble the hoses to hopefully make it easier once I am under the truck.

Thanks. I’m at about the same place. I don’t really have a full day to dedicate right now. Might pull the grill and mount the bracket one evening this week. I have the Toyota hoses attached to the T-stat. Probably gonna save the rest for when I have more time so I don’t feel rushed.

I need to figure out if I can even get it level in my driveway or if I need to rent shop space to do the install. Also thinking I can pull off the grill get the cooler mounted and the shroud drilled for the hose routing.

After finding one hose end to be a bit stubborn to get on hard line with just ATF applied, I also employed my "heat gun 3000" (an old hair dryer) to soften the rubber a bit...sure made it easy. I pre-assembled the t stat formed hoses to the stat but other than that I did not preassemble any further than the instructions and used some tape to keep the ends clean when fishing the hard lines through. I did contemplate pre-assembly of the soft lines to the hard lines but managed ok. I also wanted to leave a formed hose disconnected since I "flushed" much of the old ATF out, it was overkill but least I know it's clean.

Right wrong or indifferent I gauged level off the xmsn pan moreso than the frame rails, it was all fairly close so felt like it was splitting hairs and figure most of the time it's done on a rack and wonder how perfectly level they are.

Thanks Michelle! I have the Hayden kit from Nick but I'm assuming the install instructions are the same. I used the video from @2020Platinum when I installed mine. Watch it before the install and then again during the install.

I had a customer try to snake the hard lines with the hoses and had trouble doing so. I haven't tried it myself but it would sure make it a hell of a lot easier than attaching the hoses under the truck with little room for your hands.

Surprised so many people struggle with hoses. Boil a pot of water and stick end in for 5 seconds then slide on. Use a tiny bit of dishwashing soap on metal part. I just pushed on.

I wouldn't, save $1k. That's why Toyota deleted the cooler, most Tundra owners probably don't care. Even those who tow will likely not have problems. Toyota has done the math, it's just one of the many cost-cutting measures they've implemented over the years.

But I do tow and I don't want to think about it. Very happy with my kit, it makes my truck whole.

Installed my kit yesterday. Excellent instructions and outstanding materials provided from Nick. Before kit the scanner showed 212-215. Today’s outside temperature is 11 degrees warmer but transmission temp wouldn’t go above 190. Sure it’s a 1k in cost and some labor but peace of mind is worth it. I tow 2500-5000# trailer 4,000 miles twice a year to Arizona which is no where near Tundra capacity but would like to continue to make that trip trouble free for another 10 years or so. I appreciate the input and information gleaned these past months concerning the necessity for a cooler.

I plan on getting one installed after my warranty is up but I don't think it is necessary.

Are you asking about your 2014 4.6l in your sig?

Installed the cooler today. Running cool now. I haven’t been able to get the pan temp above 190 today.

I was regularly running pan temps above 205 before. Second screen shot above is my before temp one particular day.

May have been answered befire but I'll ask again. Post trans cooler, what is everyone seeing for highway temps, without towing?

Im at 185 pan temps off highway, and at 190-197 on highway. This is at 65 degree temps with a cross wind while running at 75mph.

Not concerned since it isnt 220, but also wasnt really expecting that at this ambient temp.
