You need a patreon account! that video along probably saved many folks lots of headaches.

I was going to let dealership do the install, but now after watching the video I'll probably do it myself.

Great video. So far, I'm part of the TC resistance movement, but this makes me want to do my own transmission oil change when it's time, lol. It sounds a lot more complicated than it looked on your video.

    Again, great job.

Thank you!!...and that’s awesome to hear, that’s why I make these videos!...to show people how to save some money and get more familiar with the truck (and it also gives me an excuse to mod my own...lol)

thanks for watching!...and yepper, I went back and forth for awhile on the cooler myself, but I just wasn’t comfortable with the high temps...especially with towing...thanks again!

Absolutely!...I’ll be doing a follow up video after a month or two of use, but so far I haven’t seen anything over 192 in the pan (it’s been stayin in 180’s for most part)...huge improvement...haven’t towed boat yet, that’ll really be the test!

Hello everyone, I did watch your video Patrick even though I had already installed Nicks cooler kit in early July. Very well done and I'm sure many will decide to tackle the install because of it. I too installed the thermostat first then the rubber lines between it and the hard steel lines, and did have some choice words getting the clamps on.

After the install I went on vacation with our approximately 4500lb boat on back, the box and back seat area full of vacation stuff. It was a warm day mid 90's degree temps, with the first 100 miles on the interstate running 70-75 mph with the A/C on I saw mostly 197-200 temps at the pan. I did see 201 for just a moment a couple of times. I then got off the interstate for the last 65 miles with my speed slowed to about 65 mph, and pan temps settled at 195-197. This was with the transmission in S-5.

I would recommend Nick's kit to any one concerned with the temps seen on these 2019+ Tundra's. I plan to keep this truck as long as I can still drive, and see this cooler as a means the that trouble free end.

I own a 2019 and paid the extra for the 8year/125,000 Platinum warranty. Knowing that the BEST dealership in the Milky Way is still just short of being one of Tony Sopranos lackey's, will adding this pose a threat to that warranty. Has anyone talked with someone at Toyota about this and heard its OK? Not trying to be a pain but when a person buys the extended warranties they are buying it not for the glove box door being loose or the window trim falling off but for the big things and if adding a cooler voids just the transmission part of the warranty that's a killer.

If you ask Toyota corporate they’ll probably say altering the oem setup of the transmission in any way voids the warranty. When it comes down to it though it will probably be the call of the dealership doing the repair. That could go either way

I totally get why folks are installing them. Everyone's situation is different. Although I pull a trailer, there's very little chance I'll own it much beyond the warranty period.

And I'd much rather spend the $ on new side scan sonar for my kayak or a new gun, lol.

When you are changing or adding fluid, do you pin the thermostat or no? Wasn't sure at what point it was removed. Sorry if this was asked and answered already.

I also bought an extended warranty, however there's a good chance I'll be driving this after the warranty has expired, and over heating the tranny through the years is a breakdown I believe most likely to show up many years from now. My way of thinking is if in the unlikely event I should experience transmission trouble while still under warranty, I will remove the cooler before seeking repairs. Yes would be a pain in the ass, but all things considered the odds are in my favor (with the cooler kit installed) that with the very reliable Tundra tranny should be good for both the short and long haul.

no prob, the pin is removed after the entire process is completed, so it’s literally the very last thing you do...hope that helps!
