Help with fuel injector install

Stoked! Lets work on Feather Dusting after the VC Gaskets.

 

I disconnected the fuel injectors clips and taped them nicely with Electrical Tape found on the street corner.

 

I didn’t want to be the first person to say it but that engine definitely needs some detailing.

 

His looks to be a Full Tequila Bottle Job.

Drove around town a bit today and I like the drive. Engine seems to be running smoother and a little more responsive to the pedal. Can’t say anything about adding HP or MPG but I can see how my MPG would improve in city driving since I don’t press the gas pedal down as much on takeoffs.

Overall really happy with this mod.

 

Combo effect of clean Injectors and better atomization. My very first observation was better torque feels with less pedal. Hows your shifting feeling? Yeah the engine does sound smoother was another observation like you said.

 

Shifting I noticed as well. There’s no lag time now. Overall drive seems better. I can feel she’s happy.

Any tips for removing these rubber bushing?... they’ve turned into hard plastic and are in there tight!

 

Cheers. Use a type of lever tool. Pry it. Donut may come out in brittle pieces. There is a metal ring inside and if you can grab that with a steady force it should mostly lever out in one piece.

 

Put the new donuts back in the proper way. Not upside down.

Nice feedback on the 12Ports. Shifting pattern change for the better.

 

Nice I was about to update. I had to tear the inner portion out to see I could get leverage under it. Popped right out.

 

Yes definitely. Even after a short drive I feel like this could be one of my more favorite mods.

 

Little help please. @Professional Hand Model i think you may have told me about changing these a while back. Are these for the driver or passenger side?
Valve Sub-assembly and Grommet. Working on passenger side and don’t see where these would go. Thanks!

Do spark plugs wear down? There’s such a big difference in what was in my truck and the new ones I got from the stealer.

 

Appears someone had iridium tip plugs instead of copper (or platinum) tipped plugs in your motor.

Part # of old plug?

 

Not sure. Mechanic changed my spark plugs last time

 

Same deal with my old shop. They put in the Iridium Tip. I like the Copper Tip better although they do not last as long.

Looks like you are going full bore into a nice tune up and fresh over upgrade. Stoked.

 

Fellas need a little help. Driver side value cover is getting hung up on the oil stick. Am I missing a step?...

 

Remove the bolt holding the dipstick and you can rotate it out of the way

 

I hadn’t removed the ignition coils. Sometimes I need to ask the question out loud to figure it out

 

Your input here... the other valve cover wasn’t this dark inside. Looks almost like burned oil and it’s stained.. is this normal or is there potentially something wrong?...

 

Normal varnish. I hot tank my stuff. As long as you don’t see sludge, you’re good

One day ima have to treat you all to a massive BBQ. I need a little guidance.
The Valve Sub Assy(which if I’m mistaken is the same as the PVC Valve replacement thread I linked before) but mine is threaded.
Not sure how/where the grommet would go and this sucker is on tight! Even after a few sprays of penetrating bolt loosener.
Wondering maybe the grommet isn’t actually for my model?...

 

I belive the grommet is for the non threaded version.
I changed mine out a couple months ago, it was REALLY tight! Going in was the same.

You might be better off changing it after you bolt the cover back down so you're not chasing your tail around the garage trying to hold it down!
